'Terrace House: Tokyo 2019-2020' Part 3: Hana and Emika have their eyes set on Ryo, but who does he like?
Haruka Okuyama quashed our Italian loverboy Guiseppe Durato aka Peppe's heart and that was closure on their 'could've been' love story that we all were hoping for. Ryo Tawatari, Hana Kimura and Emika Mizukoshi's love triangle was a focus of the final episode last season and it had managed to pique to the interest of viewers of the show. Last season, Hana and Ryo had enjoyed a great date and it looked like sparks were flying but Emika swooped in and asked Ryo out for a sushi date. On returning from the same, she couldn't stop blushing and continued talking about how fun the date was to a very annoyed Hana.
This season, Hana and Emika went out for lunch and spoke about their feelings openly with each other and they came to terms with both of them liking the same man. Hana was very eager to let Ryo know about how she feels about him.
Later on, both the ladies along with Peppe go to Ryo's football match to cheer for him. Not only does his team win but the latter also wins the title of 'MVP of the Match' that evening. Back at the house, Ryo is back from the post-match press conference and he and Hana spend some time talking to each other. A lovestruck Hana asks him if he's hoping t find love in Terrace House and he says that he has always found love when he least expects it.
She later tells him that she had a lot of fun on their long drive date. Ryo doesn't remember at first but then later admits that he did have lots of fun too. She later tells him that they must find time to grab dinner soon as she would like to spend more time with him to get to know him better.
Ryo looked very disinterested in the conversation and the panelists of the show, Yukiko Ehara, Reina Triendl, Azusa Babazono, Ryota Yamasato and Shono Hayama, pointed out the same. They had picked up on a very interesting exchange between Ryo and Emika when Ruka Nishiniro and Haruka were leaving the show. They had noticed Ryo comforting a devastated Emika by placing his hand on her knee for a very long time.
The panelists, who are a very integral part of the show and are also responsible for bringing in the laughs to this event, read too much into it. Ryo's knee-cupping move according to them was way too intimate. Some of them also thought that Ryo had some nerve to do it in front of Hana and looked at it as his way of deterring her from harboring any romantic thoughts about him. The timing of the incident was in the morning and the panelists also joked that it was quite possible that the two "smashed" the other night.
