Halsey and Marshmello's new collaboration 'Be Kind' drops this week.

The two artistes revealed they collaborated on a song dropping on Friday, May 1, via their social media accounts. Halsey shared an image on April 29 with the outline of a flower and captioned it "BE KIND with @marshmellomusic friday 12AM EST." Marshmello shared the same message with a visual of the flower being drawn.

Marshmello recently released the song 'Been Thru This Before' in collaboration with Southside, Giggs, and Saint Jhn. The hip-hop track saw the DJ take a backseat since he acted as a producer instead of participating vocally on the track, revealing his ability to tackle different genres.

Halsey, meanwhile, has spent her time contributing to the coronavirus relief efforts by participating in the Jersey 4 Jersey benefit live stream and helping raise money for individuals and local businesses dealing with the fallout of the lockdown and stay-at-home orders currently in place in the singer's home state. She has also vowed to donate 100,000 protective face masks to hospitals in California and has vocalized her support for the medical workers on the frontlines battling the spread of COVID-19.

The singer, who released her album 'Manic' at the start of the year, has had to cancel several dates of her 'Manic World Tour' due to the ongoing pandemic. Her album, which included features from Alanis Morissette and BTS' Suga, received positive reviews, with critics noting that the record was remarkably versatile and lyrically raw, tackling a wide range of personal issues and struggles that Halsey had faced in her life.

Given both Marshmello and Halsey's recent work that demonstrates their range and skill as artists, it should come as no surprise that fans are already excited for this collaboration and are predicting a hit. One fan tweets, "Marshmello and halsey are going to drop a song together in 2 days i still cant believe it im so happy UGH," and another said, "A Halsey and Marshmello song coming out on Friday and I am pumped." And one fan stated, "We all know this song is going to be a massive one, quarantine legend right here!"

Fans were also quick to share news that Marshmello and Halsey had sent 'Euphoria' actress Sydney Sweeney, who starred in Halsey's 'Graveyard' music video, a gift basket. One fan tweeted, "Nice!!! Marshmello and Halsey sent Sydney Sweeney from Euphoria a “Be Kind” themed gift basket. Hmm. I wonder if she will be in another one of Halsey’s videos, for this song one day!!! So excited for “Be Kind”!!!" and many are beginning to wonder if this means Sweeney will feature in a music video for 'Be Kind'.

Some fans were upset, however, that they wouldn't get to see the song performed live due to the lockdown, stating "Man if only we weren’t in this situation halsey and marshmello would probably perform the song together."
