HAIM's performance at Coachella to feature visuals by Paul Thomas Anderson
Los Angeles' pop-rock sister trio HAIM is all set to hit Coachella later this month. And it looks like fans are going to be in for a pure visual treat as the Grammy-nominated sisters take the stage on both weekends of the festival. According to a new report by Pitchfork, HAIM's performances will feature visuals by auteur filmmaker and Oscar-winning director Paul Thomas Anderson.
Anderson, a former student of their mother's, has worked extensively with HAIM before. He's previously directed videos for the promotion of the band’s sophomore album 'Something To Tell You', including videos for the singles 'Right Now' and 'Little of Your Love.' He was also the director for their live-installation performance video 'Night So Long' and their short video 'Valentine.'
PTA's most recent film 'Phantom Thread' featured an Oscar-nominated score by Radiohead’s Johnny Greenwood and starred the legendary Daniel Day-Lewis, who was also nominated for Best Actor. So although there are very few details about his latest collaboration with the 'Want You Back' hit-makers, it's safe to assume that it'll be something impressive considering PTA has been in top form off late.
You can check out the PTA directed video for the live performance of 'Night So Long' and 'Little of Your Love' below:
Coachella runs for two weekends later this month (13 April - 22 April) at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Beyonce, Eminem and The Weeknd are the headliners this year.
HAIM recently announced that they will be performing at a string of North American dates around their Coachella slot. Dubbed the Sister Sister Sister tour, it begins April 3rd at Schnitzer Hall in Portland, Oregon and wraps May 28th at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado.
