Who is Greg Knapp's wife? NFL coach, 58, dies of injuries after bicycle crash in California
Beloved NFL coach Greg Knapp has passed away on July 22, the NFL confirmed. Knapp, 58, who had stints with the Atlanta Falcons and New York Jets was tragically struck by a car while on his cycle in San Ramon, California. The accident occurred on Tuesday, June 20. He was in hospital in critical condition and has now succumbed to his injuries.
The shocking death of Knapp leaves NFL fans stunned, even more so given that many popular names have passed away this year. In February, legendary player Irv Cross passed away at the age of 81. In May, promising university player Jake Ehlinger was found dead near the University of Texas. Former Giants coach Jim Fassel also passed away this year, after suffering a fatal heart attack in June.

Fans have had plenty to mourn this year and it appears the bad news keeps on coming. Knapp, who was widely popular with both the Falcons and Jets, was struck by a car in San Ramon going in the same direction. It's unclear what exactly happened, but police believe the driver was not under the influence of drugs or alcohol. The person remained at the scene and cooperated with police, likely indicating that this was a genuine accident.
At the time, Knapp's hospitalization was confirmed by his agent, and his wife Charlotte. She issued a brief statement saying, "If everybody could just keep praying because we need a small miracle right now. Just keep him in your prayers." Unfortunately, it appears as if fans' prayers have not been heard. The accident also put Knapp's family into the spotlight for the first time. We know he is survived by his wife and children, but have you ever wondered who they are?
Who is Greg Knapp's family?
Unfortunately, there's not much we could find about Knapp's family. While having a high-profile job like an assistant coach, Knapp kept his personal life quite a secret. We know his wife's name is Charlotte and they two have three daughters together - Jordan, Natalie, and Camille. Beyond that, there is almost no mention of them anywhere on the Internet.
Knapp didn't have a Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter account and we could not find one for Charlotte. There also don't appear to be any pictures of the family in public. Knapp's family issued a more detailed statement following his passing, via the New York Jets. "Today at 11:32 am PST, Greg Knapp (aka Knapper) was called back home to Heaven, where he will be reunited with his Dad," they said.
Of course, Charlotte and their daughters won't be the only family mourning Knapp's passing. The 58-year-old was an important member of numerous teams - the Falcons, Jets, Broncos, and Raiders just to name a few. The teams and fans will all be mourning Knapp, whose long and successful career made him a popular household name.
