LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Beyonce missed her big moment at the Grammys 2023 after being stuck in traffic. Although she was declared the Best R&B Song winner at the event, bringing her total Grammy wins to 31, she was not present to receive her award. She won the award for the song 'Cuff It.'

Host Trevor Noah stated at the event, "So, for real, Beyonce is on her way. But you know the upside of hosting the Grammys in LA Is that everyone can be here. The downside of hosting in LA Is the traffic." However, she eventually showed up at the iconic awards, where Noah stated, "You know, when you equal a record, there's no way you get to hold your Grammy in your hand and celebrate that."

He added, "And the queen is officially in ladies and gentlemen, Beyonce Knowles. Thank you so much. I was shocked to find out that traffic could stop you. I thought you traveled through space and time, but I'm glad that you could be with us right." The singer also won Best Traditional R&B Performance for 'Plastic Off The Sofa' and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for 'Break My Soul.'



 

Who received the Grammy award on behalf of Beyonce?

Music legend Nile Rodgers and Terius "The-Dream" Nash received the award on Beyonce's behalf as they were among the writers on the hit track alongside Nova Wav, Morten Ristorp, and Raphael Saadiq. The legendary singer won the award after competing with songs including Jazmine Sullivan's 'Hurt Me So Good', Mary J. Blige's 'Good Morning Gorgeous', Muni Long's 'Hrs & Hrs', and PJ Morton's 'Please Don’t Walk Away'.

'The Grammys simply started too early'

The Internet quickly started reacting to the iconic singer's delay in arrival at the event. Matthew Belloni tweeted, "Beyoncé being 45 minutes late to the Grammys where she breaks the record might be Peak Beyoncé." Another added, "They reported she's stuck in traffic. Sh*t happens." "Beyoncé is late to the #GRAMMYs because she's manually sending out all of your Verified Fan rejection emails," read a tweet. Another added, "Beyoncé was late because she was taking photos for her #GRAMMYs wins at the #GRAMMYPremiere ceremony lol such an ICON." A user explained, "beyoncé being over a half hour late to the function she's just like us." Another user noted, "French Montana will pay for making Beyoncé late to the Grammys." "BEYONCE ISNT LATE.
