Grammys 2020: 'Finding Gabriel' by Brad Mehldau wins Best Instrumental Jazz Album
The ever so fervent, Jazz lovers, this one is for you. The Grammy Awards 2020 pre-show awards commenced with 'Finding Gabriel' by Brad Mehldau winning the award for Best Instrumental Jazz album.
The other nominations in the category were:
'In The Key Of The Universe' — Joey DeFrancesco
'The Secret Between The Shadow And The Soul' — Branford Marsalis Quartet
'Christian McBride's New Jawn'— Christian McBride
'Finding Gabriel'— Brad Mehldau
The Grammys 2020 Red Carpet has just finished and stars like Ariana Grande, Billie Eeilish, Billy Porter and Lil Nas X have made their presence felt. While Arian drowned the red carpet in her grey tulle dress, Billy Porter was a stunner in an electric blue jumpsuit.
Meanwhile, Lizzo lead the nominations list, by earning 8 nods. It comes as a surprise that Taylor Swift has been largely absent from the categories. Swift did earn three nominations for her August 2019 album Lover, including a Song of the Year nod for “Lover.” But three nominations feel pale for an artist like Swift, who’s won 10 Grammys in her lifetime.
The Annual Grammy Awards is considered one of the four major annual American entertainment awards along with the Academy Awards (film), the Emmy Awards (television), and the Tony Awards. It is presented by the Recording Academy to acknowledge and recognise achievements in the recording industry.
The show is being held in Los Angeles and is streaming live on CBS. So tune in, and don't miss out on the fun!
