Grammys 2020: Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan and Sara Watkins win Best American Roots Song for 'Call My Name'

As the world slowly struggles to move on from the shocking death of late NBA star Kobe Bryant, music lovers have found a little solace in the Grammys 2020, which began with a heartfelt tribute by Lizzo to the basketball star. The pre-show awards were announced and 'Call My Name' by Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan and Sara Watkins won the award for Best American Roots song.
The bluegrass and folk power trio beat out 'Black Myself' - Amythyst Kiah, songwriter (Our Native Daughters); 'Crossing to Jerusalem' - Rosanne Cash & John Leventhal, songwriters (Rosanne Cash); 'Faraway Look' - Dan Auerbach, Yola Carter & Pat McLaughlin, songwriters (Yola); and 'I Don’t Wanna Ride the Rails No More' - Vince Gill, songwriter (Vince Gill) to take home the trophy. The trio seemed genuinely shocked to win. O'Donovan said that they had put no thought into an acceptance speech.
Hosted by Alicia Keys for the second year running, the Grammys is being held at The Staples Center in Los Angeles and can be watched live on CBS. Lizzo leads the nominations list at the Grammys 2020, with eight nominations, including Best New Artist and Album of the Year.
The Annual Grammy Awards is considered one of the four prestigious annual American entertainment awards along with the Academy Awards (film), the Emmy Awards (television), and the Tony Awards.
