The Grammy award for the Best Rap/Sung Performance was bagged by DJ Khaled for the song 'Higher' featuring Nipsey Hussle and John Legend. This marks the first Grammy win for DJ Khaled, though he has been nominated twice under this category.

He won the award on Sunday night at Staples Center in Los Angeles during the 62nd annual Grammy Awards that is hosted by Alicia Keys. Last year, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino bagged the award in the category.

The Grammy award for the Best Rap/Sung Performance was first awarded in 2002. This award is given to a newly recorded rap/sung collaborative performance by artistes who usually do not perform together. Rihanna is the artist with the most number of wins in this category.

The category had outstanding performances as nominees including 'Drip Too Hard' by Lil Baby & Gunna, 'Panini' by Lil Nas X, 'Ballin' by Mustard featuring Roddy Ricch and 'The London' by Young Thug featuring J. Cole & Travis Scott and it definitely was a tough competition for DJ Khaled.

The award was presented by Sharon Osborne and Ozzy Osborne. Accepting the award, DJ Khaled first thanked God and then shared that this award goes out to Nipsey Hustle, to Hip Hop, and to music itself.

DJ Khaled and John Legend were joined on stage by the family of Nipsey Hustle that included his partner, daughter, grandmother and sister.
