Following in the footsteps of legendary country singers like Dixie Chicks, Lady Antebellum, Chris Stapleton and Shania Twain, Tanya Tucker bagged the award for the Best Country Album on Sunday night during the 62nd annual Grammy Awards. Tanya won the award for her album 'While I'm Livin'.

Hosted by Alicia Keys, the Grammy Awards 2020 is on full swing at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. In an early premiere ceremony prior to the television broadcast, dozens of awards were handed out and one among them was for the Best Country Album.

Other artists who received early awards were Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Lizzo, Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish among many more.

This is Tanya Tucker's first time winning a Grammy Award. This category was first awarded in 1965 but discontinued the following year. In 1995 the category was brought back and to date, the Dixie Chicks hold the record for the most number of wins under this category.

Last year, famed country singer Kacey Musgraves took home the award for her album 'Golden Hour'.

This year despite the tough competition, Tanya beat her competitors that included 'Desperate Man' by Eric Church, 'Stronger Than the Truth' by Reba McEntire, 'Interstate Gospel' by Pistol Annies, and 'Center Point Road' Thomas Rhett.

Accepting the award during the ceremony, Tanya entered the stage with her co-producers Brandi Carlile and Shooter Jennings and co-writers Phil and Tim Hanseroth.

Tanya shared that she is honored and has no words. She added, "You know, after almost 50 years in this business, after many dreams, it's unbelievable to me that I'd have a few 'firsts' left. So, after 14 trips, 14 nominations, this is the first win."

She shared, "I just want to say that no matter how young or old you are, never stop following your dreams. Keep going." She also thanked Brandi and Shooter for believing in her.
