Grammys 2020: Camila Cabello dedicates 'First Man' to her dad and fans are reminded of Kobe Bryant and Gianna

Camila Cabello's emotional performance of 'First Man' has fans emotional as they share that the song reminded them of NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna who died in a helicopter crash just a few hours ahead of the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards. 

Camila Cabello has been nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance along with Shawn Mendez for their hit single 'Senorita'. Donning a pink gown, Camila's performance included home footage from her childhood of her and her dad. Her father, Alejandro Cabello, who was seated in the front row, was brought to tears with her performance.

Towards the end of her performance, the 'Havana' singer walked down the stage towards her father and embraced him in a tight hug. Watching this performance, fans could not help but get emotional as they shared that the performance reminded them of Kobe and his daughter Gianna.

It might be music's biggest night but it was also an emotional night for everyone as fans gathered around Staple Center where Kobe used to play with the Lakers.

Fans struck with emotions took to Twitter and one of them wrote: "First man by Camila cabello hits different rn after Kobe's death #GRAMMYs I'm calling my dad," a fan wrote. 

"My Dad passed some years ago so I can really appreciate #CamilaCabello's performance tonight but it's even more moving and fitting after the loss of Kobe & his beautiful little girl. #GRAMMYs #Grammys2020," a fan shared. While another wrote, "....that Camila Cabello performance just somehow got me thinking of Kobe and Gigi... they seemed to have one of the most beautiful father daughter bonds I've ever seen displayed in public." 

"This Camila Cabello's Performance on #GRAMMYs a Father-Daughter tribute song will make you cry. Thinking of Kobe Bryant and Gianna. Beautiful souls. Rest in Peace," shared a fan.

Adding to that another said, "Emotional performance of camila cabello, soul of her voice really touched my heart. literally im crying while watching this! ps. i remember kobe and his family while watching this performance."
