The 62nd Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles at the Staples Center, with the honors opening with a moment of silence for NBA star Kobe Bryant, who died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, January 26, 2020.

As the biggest red carpet in music began, the pre-show awards were announced and 21 Savage featuring Jermaine Cole won the trophy for Best Rap Song for 'A Lot'. Music lovers were happy as the rapper won his first Grammy award.

"Congratulations @JColeNC and @21savage for winning the best rap song at the Grammy's. Totally deserving," one tweet read and another said, "Finally, J Cole wins a Grammys in featured song with 21 Savage. Congrats to him." Many fans were disappointed that it was not televised. "Not televised. But @21savage x @JColeNC's 'A Lot' - off last year's 'I am > I was' - takes Best Rap Song."

The late Nipsey Hussle received three posthumous nominations for Best Rap Performance, Best Rap/Sung Performance along with Best Rap Song and fans couldn't stop paying tribute to him.

21 Savage was also nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2020 Grammys for 'i am > i was'. Last year, the rapper was detained by ICE for being “unlawfully present in the US” owing to his birth in the United Kingdom. At last year’s ceremony, Childish Gambino producer Ludwig Göransson yelled 21 Savage's name while accepting the award for Record of the Year.

Hosted by Alicia Keys, the ceremony will be broadcasted live in HDTV and 5.1 surround sound on the CBS Television Network at 8.00 pm ET/5.00 pm PT.
