The annual nominations of Grammy for 2021 are here and the choice of nominations is raising some serious questions. From the Weeknd to BTS, Blackpink, and more, there were a lot of great contenders that didn’t find their place in the nominations for the 63rd annual Grammy Awards, set to happen on January 31, 2021, users believe.

While BTS has been nominated for the Best pop duo/group performance for 'Dynamite', fans are stating that they deserved a lot more; Blackpink fans are not happy at the group’s exceptional musical contribution this year not getting recognized at Grammys. The Weeknd has also received zero nominations this year despite having one of the greatest chart-topper albums.

Blackpink’s first studio album which goes by the name ‘The Album’, charted at number 2 at Billboard 200 this year while the band topped the Billboard Artist 100 chart on October 17. After the nominations of the Grammys were announced, Blinks took it to Twitter to show their disappointment at the nominations.

A user noted, “The weeknd, rina sawayama and blackpink are the biggest snubbed this year while lady gaga deserves more... then there's yummy by justin which got grammy nominations.” Another user said, “The Weekend, Blackpink and Selena Gomez having 0 nomination for Grammy is the worst joke of the year. These artists deserves a nomination they deserve better.”

While BTS army has also pointed out that BTS’ Map of the Soul: 7 which charted at Billboard 200 and remains one of the highest album sales of the year with 422,000 album-equivalent units (including 347,000 sales) earned in its first week itself. It has also been a critically acclaimed album of the septet. BTS have got their first nomination with their first English song ‘Dynamite’ but ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ deserved more, Internet says.

A fan tweeted, "Map Of The Soul 7 should have been nominated for the Album of The Year.  Look at its track record. When will the Grammys be open and not think only the west can have that? @BTS_twt @RecordingAcad #MOTS7". One said, “BTS are too damn nice and too damn humble. I’m not though. BTS deserved this + so much more and the Grammys/RA just need to do better. I’m overjoyed for BTS, I’m celebrating for them, but it pains me that they always have to work so much harder, but they’ll get their dues.” She added, “I’ll just say it. mots:7 is a beautifully crafted album, sonically, lyrically, & the range in it is unmatched. It deserved to be up there. Ofc I’m happy that something BTS have wanted, vulnerably spoke out into the universe, have worked so hard for, is finally happening.”

She concluded saying, “But I also want BTS to know they deserve the most. Their work, in their native language as well, has made so much impact. It’s not their fault this industry is built on xenophobia & ignorance. But they’ve made it this far genuinely & organically, & that’s something to be proud of.” Another fan said, “Totally agree, BTS should have been nominated for many years, xenophobia is amazing, it's impossible that a gem like the MOTS:Map of the Soul era doesn't have a grammy”

Another fan said: "Ari was not mentioned ONCE and she landed 3 hot 100 #1's. BTS have the best selling album of the YEAR and MOTS7 wasn't nominated. Dynamite broke a MULTITUDE of records in the US and yet only one nomination and not in a major category. the grammys are going to h3ll."
