Dawes, known for combining elements of folk rock with indie and alternative rock to produce eclectic guitar music, also dropped an official music video for a single from their upcoming album 'Good Luck with Whatever'. Let's take a look at everything you need to know about their impending release.

Release date and concept

'Good Luck with Whatever' will release worldwide on Friday, October 2, 2020, on the label Rounder and distributed via Decca Records. The record has been produced by Dave Cobb; a six-time Grammy Award winning record producer who has worked with artistes like The Highwomen, Chris Stapleton, Sturgill Simpson, Jason Isbell, Brandi Carlile and John Prine. Cobb was also a contributor to 2018's 'A Star Is Born' soundtrack producing 'Always Remember Us This Way' for Lady Gaga.

In a statement about recording Dawes' seventh studio album, singer, guitarist and the band's chief songwriter, Taylor Goldsmith, said, "In the past, I’ve definitely been more precious about the way I wanted the songs to sound, but that’s never as fun. The music we make is everyone’s mode of expression, and the other guys all have chops that I don’t have and never will. The fact that we’re able to lean on each other and celebrate each other as individuals just makes us so much more excited about getting to play together in this band."
