Golden Globes 2024: Internet amused as Kieran Culkin roasts 'The Last of Us', says 'suck it' to Pedro Pascal after his win

'The Last of Us' actor Pedro Pascal pretended to cry as 'Succession' actor Kieran Culkin mocked him for losing at Golden Globes

BEVERLY HILTON, LOS ANGELES: Kieran Culkin was awarded his first Golden Globe win for Best Performance by an Actor in a TV series. He bagged the award for his role in the series 'Succession'.

It seems like Culkin was too taken away by his win. As he won the award and saw that he beat 'The Last of Us' actor Pedro Pascal, he yelled boastfully, "Suck it, Pedro," saying "Sorry" immediately after.

This made the audience laugh. Soon after jokingly roasting Pedro, Culkin went on to thank "three amazing women" in his life. He thanked his manager Emily Gerson Saines, his wife Jazz Charton, and his mother. 

Culkin said, "And my wonderful mom. Mom, thank you for doing everything you’ve done for us. You’re an amazing woman."

Culkin claimed he was nominated for a Golden Globe 20 years ago, and ever since that moment passed he lost hope of ever returning to the same room again. He added, "But thanks to Succession, I’ve been in here a couple of times, which is nice. But I sort of accepted I’m never going to be on stage, so this is a nice moment, thank you."

Seeing Culkin roast Pedro, one tweeted, "Kieran Culkin saying “suck it” to Pedro Pascas was THE MOMENT." Another claimed, 'Only Kieran Culkin can pull off saying “suck it” to the other nominees for losing tonight." 

One tweeted, "Kieran culkin saying "suck it, pedro" during his acceptance speech is so funny."

"Golden globe winner kieran culkin you are very important to me HE IS SO ROMAN ROY <3 and SUCK IT PEDRO," gushed another fan.

Instead of taking Culkin's comment too seriously, Pedro chose to pretend he was sobbing after hearing his "suck it" comment. Pedro initially laughed out loud at the joke.

However, when the camera continued to focus on him for a little longer, he acted as if he was crying while listening to Culkin's roast.

After Culkin's win, fans instantly started flooding the internet, claiming Pedro was "robbed" as lost the Best Actor award. One wrote, "I love Kieran but Pedro got robbed, this is the only opinion I will be sharing for the night, thank you."

"PEDRO PASCAL WAS ROBBED," tweeted another. A fan compared Pedro's 'The Last of Us' with Culkin's 'Succession', as they expressed their own opinion on the shows, writing, "Pedro Pascal was robbed. His performance in The Last of Us is epically FLAWLESS and BEAUTIFUL. F**k Succession."

Another furious fan asked, "Are the award show voters broken? Pedro Pascal is being robbbbbbbbeeeddddd."

How many awards did 'The Last of Us' actor Pedro Pascal win at Golden Globes 2024?

Pedro did not win any award at the 2024 Golden Globes Awards. However, apart from the Best Actor award, Pascal's series 'The Last of Us' was nominated for Best TV series. Sadly, it did not manage to win that award either.

'Succession' took away the Best Television Series award for Drama, beating 'The Last of Us' in both the categories that it had been nominated for. 

The 81st annual award ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California.
