Golden Globes 2023 drunkapades: From Milly Alcock holding Emma D’arcy to Mike White’s speech

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA: The Golden Globe Awards 2023 saw some big winners including Jennifer Coolidge, Steven Spielberg and Michelle Yeoh among others. Host Jerrod Carmichael made the evening fun by taking digs at celebs including Tom Cruise, Kanye West and Will Smith among others. However, when the attendess decided to get a little drunk, several funny moments ensued. Some of them were lucky enough to win an award and tell others how drunk they were while accepting the award. 

For example, we have Mike White who got up the stage with the rest of his crew to accept the award for Best Limited Series, Anthology Series or Television Motion Picture for 'The White Lotus'. As alcohol is known to break all filters, White, after accepting he was drunk, said, "I know you all passed! You all passed on this show! So, yes, it's very gratifying to have this moment." 'Pinocchio', which was directed by Guillermo del Toro and stop-motion veteran Mark Gustafson for Netflix, won the Golden Globe for the Best-Animated Feature. Taking the stage, del Toro said, "Some of us are drunk. What can be better?" Milly Alcock, Emma D'arcy and Miguel Sapochnik received the Best Drama Television Series for 'House of the Dragon'. For most of the acceptance speech, Alcock was holding D'arcy, which proved that the crew had been partying.

Before leaving the stage, White concluded, “I would take a bullet for you guys. Not on the heart but maybe on the foot.” Throughout his time on stage, White seemingly looked hyperactive and his speech seemed slurred. ‘House of the Dragon’ director Sapochnik accepted the award and pointed toward D'arcy and Alcock for the audience to adore. At that point, Alcock could not help but throw herself on D’arcy for support and continuously chuckle with what looked like heavy drunk eyes. del Toro looked happy, if not very happy while he accepted the award for 'Pinocchio'. He finished his speech with a very enthusiastic, "See you later."

On seeing what took place, a person said, "Mike White is so drunk and hilarious. he just called out every famous person in the audience for passing on White Lotus. a true icon lol "I know you all passed! You all passed on this show! So, yes, it's very gratifying to have this moment."  #GoldenGlobes " Another user wrote, "I love how everyone’s drunk at the golden globes " One more user wrote, "I’m so glad the Golden Globes are back showing celebrities drunk in fancy outfits."

One viewer quoted White's speech and tweeted, "I was gonna give this speech in Italian but I'm too drunk, cause there's no food." Epic golden globes speech." Another user reflected on the Award ceremony's journey and wrote, "The last hour of the Golden Globes is always just sheer drunk chaos and that's how it should be." One more user said, "Whoever is responsible for getting everyone sloppy drunk and placing Brad Pitt in front of the stage at the #GoldenGlobes deserves a promotion."
