NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: 'GMA3: What You Need to Know' co-hosts Amy Robach and TJ Holmes have reportedly been pulled from the show amid their shocking alleged affair scandal. They won't return to the show until ABC News decides how to handle the latest discovery of their alleged romance. The two would no longer conduct their daily show at 1 pm, ABC News President Kim Godwin revealed during an internal call on Monday, December 5, 2022, according to NY Daily News.

Godwin stated that Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, did not violate any network regulations, but that the public attention surrounding them caused "an internal and external disruption" and their removal from the anchor positions was required for the "GMA" brand as a whole. She said, “After a lot of thought, I am taking Amy and TJ off the air as we figure this out.”

Stephanie Ramos and Gio Benitez filled in for Robach and Holmes in the December 5 episode of 'GMA3', the afternoon version of 'Good Morning America'. At the beginning of the show, Ramos briefly acknowledged Robach and Holmes' absence by stating that they "have the day off."

The alleged romance between Holmes and Robach was revealed last week after the two put up a flirty show at clubs close to ABC's Midtown studios. Although other sources close to the anchors claim the relationship started as early as the spring in August when Holmes and Robach separated from their respective spouses, Andrew Shue and Marilee Fiebig.

Following the scandal, several sources told Page Six that top 'Good Morning America' anchor Robin Roberts was not pleased with the alleged affair. Robach, 49, and Holmes, 45, were questioned about the alleged liaison by Roberts, 62. She “pulled them both aside and basically said, ‘Stop it.’” “She is not only very religious but also doesn’t like this kind of scandal tainting the show,” one insider told Page Six.

Internet was divided on the step taken by the News channel, with one tweeting, "Cancel culture is the worst! Their personal lives is no one’s business but theirs." Another said, "I do think in some professions that’s true but when it’s media, it can be risky. They knew it would come with some backlash internally."

One social media user commented in the favour of the News channel, "Even if they keep them in air....nobody will pay any attention to what is being presented. The amount of attention this is getting is http://insaneeeee.So why not keep them off air for a while?"

"Why should anyone care, who sleeps with who? As long as it's not forced and its consensual, it shouldn't have been anyone else's business. All people want from these two is to listen to them yapping, as a background noise, while we work. Who cares, they're sleeping together?" said one user.

Another tweeted, "No one said they were fired. And, no one’s knows for sure if they were married when it started. Boss just wants it to die down a bit…I’m sure the children of these two would appreciate that as well."

A sixth commented, "GMA probably doesn’t want the two adulterers being the face of their show most networks fire employees when their dirty laundry gets put out in public."
