'Ginny Weds Sunny': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Netflix's rom-com drama
'Ginny Weds Sunny' is all set to release on Netflix on October 9, 2020. The rom-com drama was originally slated for an earlier release but was delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As the movie is nearing its release, the cast is busy promoting it on their social media handles. Recently, Yami Gautam and rest of the main cast of 'Ginny Weds Sunny' featured together on an online podcast in which they played Antakshari (song game) together.
In an event Gautam described her character in the film, saying, “It was a blast playing Ginny as she is a headstrong girl, not letting anyone or anything ever let her down." On the other hand, Vikrant spoke about his role saying, “While he cooks great dishes in the kitchen, life does not have the perfect recipe in store for Sunny. He wants to get married but the challenge of winning over Ginny is more formidable than he signs up for. I play a quintessential Punjabi boy from Delhi in the film, which was a first for me.”

Plot
The official synopsis of the film reads, "The film follows headstrong Ginny who meets Sunny for an arranged marriage, but turns him down, and then shows how Sunny teams up with Ginny's mother to win her love."
Cast
Yami Gautam
Born on 28 November 1988, Yami Gautam is a Bollywood actress who first grabbed eyes when she starred in a series of Fair and Lovely commercials. She later starred in some Hindi TV shows and in 2012 she made her Bollywood debut with 'Vicky Donor' for which she received Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She'll be playing the lead role in the film.
Vikrant Massey
Vikrant Massey made his debut with the TV show 'Kahaan Hoo Main' in 2004. He made a brief appearance in 'Lootera' followed by 'Dil Dhadakne Do' and eventually a supporting cast in 'Half Girlfriend'. He played lead roles in 'Broken but beautiful', 'Criminal Justice' and 'Mirzapur'. 'Ginni weds Sunny' marks to be his third Netflix project consecutively. He was previously seen in sci-fi drama 'Cargo' and 'Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare'.
Makers
The film is directed by Puneet Khanna and produced by Vinod Bachchan under Soundrya Production. Navjot Gulati and Sumit Arora are the writers of the film. It marks Khanna's directorial debut. Sony Music India was roped in as the official music partner.
