'We'll gladly take them': George Floyd's family backs Harry and Meghan as Netflix docu faces backlash in UK
Since the trailers of 'Harry & Meghan' dropped and after its premiere on Netflix, the couple's documentary series has been receiving heavy backlash creating a distressing atmosphere in the UK. However, one member of George Floyds' family has come up to offer support to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle amid the outrage in Britain.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are welcomed with open hearts in the US, their adopted home country. Americans have praised Harry and Meghan as they openly discussed racial issues and matters concerning discrimination in the docuseries.

"We will gladly take them if Britain don't want them," said Floyds' family member whose name is not revealed. The family member made the statement to Good Morning Britain's US correspondent Noel Philips.
On several occasions, the former actress has spoken out about Floyd who was killed in 2020 by a cop who knelt on his back and another officer who knelt on his neck. Following his death, Black Lives Matter protests seeking racial justice took place across the world.
The couple's calling out of Britain's "unconscious bias" in the third episode of the first part of their docuseries was slammed in the UK but it received praises in the US and from activists. MEAWW previously reported that the rage has gone to the extent to which the UK lawmakers want the titles of the couple to be revoked.
A few weeks after the death of 46-year-old Floyd on May 25, 2020, Meghan talked about the issue at Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles, her old school while addressing the newly graduating students. "George Floyds' life mattered and Breonna Taylor's life mattered and Philando Castile's life mattered and Tamir Rice's life mattered," said the Duchess. Speaking about Floyds' horrifying murder, she mentioned the names of other African-American people who were murdered by the cops in the US in the past years, reports the Daily Mail.
"For Black America, those nine minutes and 29 seconds transcended time, invoking centuries of our unhealed wounds," Meghan told NAACP Awards in a speech later in 2020. The Daily Mail reported that she further added in her speech that "In the months that followed, as my husband and I spoke with the civil rights community, we committed ourselves and our organization, Archewell, to illuminating those who are advancing racial justice and progress."
The Royal family's treatment of the couple and other undisclosed information from the duo are yet to be unfolded in the second part of the six-episode documentary series which is scheduled to stream on December 15 on Netflix.
