Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood took to the historic Grand Ole Opry stage as they entertained millions of their fans in an intimate lockdown concert on Saturday, May 2.

This is actually the Grand Ole Opry's 4,922nd consecutive Saturday night show, keeping the storied venue's 90-year-streak of weekend live performances intact. The show began at 8 pm ET, but both Garth and Trisha were on hand half an hour before the show started to interact with fans on Facebook Live by 7.30 ET itself.

Due to coronavirus protocols, there was no audience present, but both Garth and Trisha encouraged their audience to stay at home and help flatten the curve, saying that they were doing a great job so far.

Trisha also mentioned how much they loved and missed their backing bands and crews, since it was just her, Garth and an acoustic guitar in this stripped-down, minimalist setting. The amazing show is going on live here if you'd like to check it out.

Fans are really digging their renditions so far. The song they kicked off with, 'Unbroken,' couldn't have been a more perfect mood-setter.

"Couldn’t have asked for a better start to the show...what a trip down country music memory lane." said one Twitter user. Others concurred, saying "'She's in love with the boy...' and we're officially in love with @garthbrooks & @trishayearwood."

A lot of fans were grateful that they paid a beautiful tribute to the folk music legend, John Prine, who sadly passed away last month. "@trishayearwood singing 'Angel from Montgomery' just literally slayed my life. I’m done. She is perfect," said one fan.

Ohers chimed in, saying "Thank you @trishayearwood for this beautiful tribute to @JohnPrineMusic."

Another viewer was commenting on their impeccable taste in covers, saying "Garth singing George Strait and Trisha singing Emmylou Harris, doesn't get better than this on a Saturday night!"

Other fans commented on how despite the absence of a crowd, the incredibly talented couple was more than enough to keep them entertained - "Watching #GarthBrooks and @trishayearwoodlive! One guitar and two voices is all you need for magic!"

"I could listen to Garth and Trisha sing for hours and hours. We need a Garth and Trisha 24/7 channel," said another thrilled fan, and we're certainly in agreement there, as they sound spectacular together.

As another viewer puts it: "Just watched Garth and Trisha, who are not only talented and entertaining, but their genuine and easy affection for each other is so apparent. A couple to admire."
