Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood are all set to take viewer requests during a live primetime show that will air on CBS this week. Here's everything you need to know about how to watch them perform and how to send in your requests.

What to expect

In an announcement made on Sunday, CBS stated that Brooks and Yearwood will perform "an intimate concert for viewers looking for the comfort and shared joy of music during this difficult time."

The special is inspired by the more casual at-home concert the couple held last week, which saw an unprecedented number of viewers tune in and cause Facebook Live to crash multiple times.

Due to the success of the Facebook live show, the Executive Vice President of Specials, Music & Live Events at CBS Entertainment Jack Sussman reached out to the couple and proposed they recreate the session as a CBS special so that this time, it won't crash.

He said, "After we saw Garth and Trisha crash Facebook, we reached out to them about bringing this Studio G to a larger audience in a safe and exciting way."

Viewers will be able to make requests to the couple to sing during the special. In their previous live session, they accepted a few songs requests including Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's 'Shallow' from the movie 'A Star is Born', George Jones and Tammy Wynette's 'Golden Rings', and 'Thicker Than Blood', in addition to doing duets and solos of some other popular songs, including a few of their own.

The pair also had multiple emotional and heartwarming moments in their previous live showing solidarity with all those who were dealing with the pandemic.

They even shared some behind-the-scenes stories from the early days of their careers and engaged in some playful banter, much to the amusement of their audience. The couple's easy-going, casual nature made for a highly entertaining session, so the upcoming special is bound to be just as enjoyable.

When it airs

The 'Garth and Trisha Live!' special will air on Wednesday, April 1 at 9 pm ET.

Where to watch it

The special will be filmed at the couple's home recording studio, Studio G, and will air on CBS. Find your local affiliate here.

Who will be in it

Multi-award winning country singers and husband-and-wife duo Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, known for their significant impact on the country genre, will appear in the primetime special.

Due to the need for social distancing and quarantine to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the special will be filmed without a live audience and the duo will only have a small crew who will be taking social distancing precautions as the show streams from the couple's home studio.

However, as with all other at-home concerts, celebrity guests are sure to make an appearance!

How to request songs

Brooks will host a special episode of his Facebook Live show, 'Inside Studio G' on Monday, March 30 to let viewers know how they can send in their song requests.
