Prime Video renews 5 popular shows after canceling 7 — including Legally Blonde prequel Elle
Young Sherlock
Young Sherlock quickly cracked the case for a renewal. The mystery drama debuted on Prime Video on March 4, releasing all eight episodes at once and introducing audiences to a younger version of the legendary detective. Led by Hero Fiennes Tiffin in the title role, the series explores Sherlock Holmes’ early years and the experiences that helped shape his famous investigative mind. Just over a month after its premiere, Prime Video gave the show another clue-filled chapter, officially renewing it for Season 2 on April 14.
Reacher
If Reacher couldn't score a renewal, it would be hard to imagine any show doing it. Even before Season 4 arrives, Prime Video has already handed the action hit a fifth season. The confidence isn't surprising as Season 3 pulled in 54.6 million viewers worldwide during its first 19 days and even edged past Season 2's audience numbers by 0.5%. Alan Ritchson returns as Jack Reacher, with the upcoming fourth season adapting Lee Child's 13th novel, Gone Tomorrow. Filming on Season 4 has already wrapped, though Prime Video has yet to announce a premiere date.
Off Campus
If Off Campus hadn't been renewed, fans might have been planning a protest outside Prime Video headquarters. The streamer clearly knew it had a hit on its hands, renewing the series for Season 2 in February, months before the show's May debut. The 10-episode adaptation of Elle Kennedy's The Deal followed Garrett Graham (Belmont Cameli) and Hannah Wells (Ella Bright), and became Prime Video's third most-watched debut season ever. With that kind of response, the early renewal paid off. Season 2 will spotlight the romance of Dean DiLaurentis (Stephen Kalyn) and Allie Hayes (Mika Abdalla).
Cross
Cross has become one of Prime Video's most reliable crime-thriller winners, so its Season 3 renewal wasn't exactly a shock. Based on James Patterson's bestselling novels, the series stars Aldis Hodge as detective Alex Cross. Season 1 pulled in 40 million viewers worldwide during its first 20 days and ranked as Prime Video's third most-watched premiere of 2025. After Season 2 debuted in February, the streamer officially renewed the show for a third season on March 18, the same day the finale dropped. The good news for fans? Cameras started rolling on Season 3 in April, so the investigation is already back in motion.
Elle
After Prime Video renewed Elle before Season 1 had even premiered, the streamer must have thought, “What? Like it's hard?” The early vote of confidence means the Legally Blonde prequel already has a Season 2 on the way. The series revisits the early years of Elle Woods, the iconic character made famous by Reese Witherspoon in the 2001 film. This time, Lexi Minetree steps into the pink heels as a teenage Elle. Set before Harvard and courtroom victories, the show follows her through the ups and downs of high school life. Season 1 premieres on July 1, but Prime is already betting on more adventures ahead.
