5 Burning Questions Dutton Ranch's Finale Must Answer, From Beulah's Fate to Whitney's Disappearance
What Happened to The Leopard?
Similar to Carter (Finn Little), the audience was shocked when Dwight White (Ray McKinnon) introduced his pet leopard, Xena in Episode 4. However, in the fifth episode, Dwight's ranch was raided by authorities, and he's fatally shot by Sheriff Wade (Josh Stewart) right in front of the leopard's cage. This leaves Xena's fate unknown. But since its appearance in the trailer, the leopard has captivated the fans. His bond with White and Carter also stole hearts. Hopefully, the leopard reappears to take Sheriff Wade out of the picture and avenge his friend.
Where is Whitney?
Wes's death was one of Dutton Ranch's central mysteries before it was revealed that Foreman Rob-Will Jackson (Jai Courtney) killed the ranch hand and buried his body on the ranch. The cover-up eventually pulled Beth and Rip into the situation. After Wes's disappearance, several people began asking questions, but none were more determined than his wife, Whitney (Olivia Rose Keegan). However, Whitney later vanished, and the show has yet to explain where she went or what happened to her.
Did Whitney go into hiding? Did she seek help from the authorities? Or is she gathering evidence against the Jacksons? Since she remains one of the most important links to Wes (Nakoa DeCoite), her return in the finale could finally provide answers and help bring this storyline to a close.
Why are Beulah and Everett Not Together?
Beth and Rip may be Dutton Ranch's fan-favorite couple, but another pairing that has captured viewers' attention is Beulah (Annette Bening) and Everett (Ed Harris). The Rio Paloma veterans clearly share a long history and appear to have once been deeply in love. Now that they've seemingly found their way back to each other, one major question remains: what drove them apart in the first place? The undeniable chemistry makes their past all the more intriguing. Episode Seven's brutal flashback shed more light on Beulah's history, but it notably didn't feature Everett, suggesting there may be chapters of her life that he doesn't know about or that the audience hasn't seen yet. Some fans have even theorized that the two may have been married at one point. Hopefully, the finale finally reveals the truth about Beulah and Everett's shared past.
What Will Joaquin Do?
Joaquin, Beulah's trusted aide and adopted son, was blindsided when control of 10-Petal Ranch was handed over to Rob-Will. Over the past seven episodes, the show has made one thing clear: the ranch isn't just a piece of land to him: it's his home, his purpose, and a huge part of who he is. That's why losing it to someone as unpredictable as Rob-Will is bound to leave a deep scar. But what does Joaquin do now? Does he walk away from Rio Paloma and start over, or does he fight for the place he loves? Could he go after Rob-Will to take back the ranch? Could his fight turn into a larger conflict with the Jackson family? And if things spiral out of control, might his father get pulled into the battle as well? The finale should finally reveal just how far Joaquin is willing to go to protect what matters most to him.
Did Beulah Die?
The seventh episode of Dutton Ranch titled Den of Sin, ends with Beulah collapsing to the ground. Earlier in the episode, she is pressured into naming her volatile son, Rob-Will, the heir to 10-Petal Ranch, despite previously intending to pass the ranch on to Joaquin. The decision suggests that Rob-Will holds considerable power over his mother and that she fears what he might do if she defies him. Following the highly stressful anniversary party, Beulah seemingly suffers a serious medical emergency—possibly a massive heart attack or stroke—and is rushed to a hospital. It seems unlikely that Dutton Ranch would kill off such a pivotal character, but in the Yellowstone universe, nothing can be taken for granted, especially after John Dutton's shocking off-screen death.
