The Drop: A Snowfall Saga follows “Snowfall characters Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) as they fight to reinvent themselves in ’90s Los Angeles, where the fallout from the crack epidemic is fueling a new game: the rise of West Coast rap.” The eight-episode first season of the spinoff premiered on September 8 on FX and Hulu, with new episodes dropping weekly on Tuesdays. 

In the mood for a psychological thriller? We’ve got you! Amazon describes The Runner as a “visceral, high-stakes race where every second counts, every choice carries a price, and a mother's unstoppable love becomes the most dangerous weapon of all.” The official synopsis reads: “Maia Marten (Gal Gadot) has built her life on being one step ahead — a sharp, resourceful, high-powered lawyer at the top of London's legal world. During her routine morning run, a single phone call shatters her world: her son has been taken. The instructions to get him back are simple and merciless — keep moving, follow every command, and tell no one. Stop, and he dies. Forced to sprint through the city and obey a series of sinister commands, Maia must confront an impossible question: how far will she go to bring her son home?” Viewers can watch the movie on Prime Video, as it was released on September 2. 

Trust Apple TV to serve up the best of the best mystery thrillers! Last Seen is about police detective Ian Ridley (Patrick Brammall), whose “life fell apart 11 years ago when his young daughter, Maggie, disappeared without a trace. Now working as a police dispatcher, the only thing that has kept him going is his implacable refusal to accept that she might be gone forever. When he receives a distress call from a teenage girl he is certain is Maggie, he will stop at nothing to find her and reunite his broken family, whatever the cost.” The show premiered with its first two episodes on September 9. New episodes will drop on Apple TV every Wednesday. 

Why Did I Get Married Again? is the third film in Tyler Perry’s film franchise, and it landed on Netflix on September 9. In the threequel, “the couples reunite in celebration as Marcus and Angela’s daughter prepares to tie the knot. After being apart for quite some time, they quickly learn that as much as things change, they also stay the same. Realizing their children have grown up to be so much like them, they must reflect on the examples they’ve set and ask themselves that age-old question: Why did they get married … again?” 

Crew Girl is a new sports series about young rowers. It tells the story of “Teagan Tao (Miku Martineau), a gifted 16-year-old single sculler whose promising future is derailed by a family scandal. Forced to relocate to the East Coast with her mom, Ella (Jessica Paré), Teagan hopes to have a fresh start at the prestigious Easton Prep. But once there, she finds that she’s not just the outcast newcomer — she’s stuck on land. There’s no girls’ rowing team at Easton. Her only way back onto the water? Taking the helm as coxswain for Easton’s notoriously chaotic boys’ varsity crew.” All eight episodes of Crew Girl dropped on September 10 on Netflix, so you can binge-watch the entire season.
