'Found our way back': Inside Ben Stiller's separation and path to reconciliation with wife Christine Taylor
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor's reconciliation was facilitated by their time spent in quarantine during the Coronavirus outbreak, Taylor revealed. Taylor, 51, spoke on Drew Barrymore's talk show on Tuesday about her and Stiller's reunion in 2020 after a three-year separation. "We had all this time to talk," Taylor said. "There were no other distractions. It was a really special time," she continued, calling their rekindled romance "organic" and "natural."
The 'The Brady Bunch Movie' actress explained that although the couple had found "time apart" to be essential, they kept their family a "priority" before reconciling. "We always stayed a family unit [and] continued to do things together," Taylor said, who has a daughter Ella (20), and a son Quinlin (17) with Stiller. The relationship between the pair is "so good" right now because they make time for one another while still "taking care" of themselves, as per Page Six.

How did Taylor and Stiller find their way back?
Taylor and Stiller got married in 2000 and separated in 2017. The pair decided to rekindle their romance during the coronavirus outbreak. Taylor remarked, "we got to know who we are" during the time apart. In an interview with Esquire in February 2022, Stiller, 57, confirmed their reconciliation. The actor added at the time, "We're happy." "I think we have a respect for the ways that we’re similar and the ways we’re different," Stiller said, as per Fox News.
Stiller noted that the couple's rekindled romance began in the early days of the pandemic when he decided to move back in with Taylor and their two kids because it would be the only way he could see them during the lockdown.
The confirmation of their reconciliation came five years after Stiller and Taylor declared their separation in a joint statement. "With tremendous love and respect for each other, and the 18 years we spent together as a couple, we have made the decision to separate," the couple wrote in 2017. "Our priority will continue to be raising our children as devoted parents and the closest of friends," the couple added.
The co-stars of 'Zoolander' had been “growing in different directions” and were now at "an impasse," Taylor said. The couple needed to take a break and "figure out what was best" for their future after becoming engaged within six months of first seeing each other, getting married the following year, and "very quickly" starting a family.
Taylor remarked that giving each other space for their own "growth spurts" later on made room for their "special" reunion.
