Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters prank fans with false stage fall.

On Tuesday, Foo Fighters returned to Gothenburg in Sweden as part of their Concrete and Gold world tour

Three years ago, while performing in Gothenburg, Sweden, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl fell off the stage and broke his leg. In a move that has now sealed Grohl's fame as an all-round badass, he opted against canceling the remainder of the concert, instead choosing to performing with his leg elevated and in an air cast. Later, in a great spurt of oxycontin-fueled inspiration, Grohl designed a custom throne that allowed him to finish Foo Fighters’ tour.

On Tuesday, Foo Fighters returned to Gothenburg as part of their Concrete and Gold world tour with a homage to the incident in typical Foo style.

In the opening moments of the band's return to Gothenburg's Ullevi Stadium, as the members of the band took to the stage, a fake Dave Grohl joined his bandmates onstage and ran out onto the catwalk where he promptly did a slapstick dive and slipped straight off the stage. While the fans seemed half confused, the band kept playing following the fall as the real Dave Grohl quickly made his way onstage to reveal the ruse. Check out the funny moment below.

Of course, Foo Fighters are no strangers to such shenanigans on stage. Over the last few year, the Foos have enjoyed a live Rickroll with Rick Astley, been privy to a guest appearance by John Travolta and even seen an actual marriage unfold at their concert.

We've even gotten a chance to see some stellar fan performances - like the time Grohl invited a random fan dubbed "Kiss Guy" on stage who absolutely killed it on the lead guitar for the song 'Monkey Wrench.' And then there was the awkward situation where an eight-year-old boy got on the drum-kit and sort of refused to leave after showing-off his skills to a packed stadium. But the fake fall from last night has to be the one that takes the cake and is by far the cheekiest stunt pulled by the Foos.

The Foos will be on their massive, sprawling tour all over Europe before heading back to their side of the pond in July to play at the BB&T Pavilion in Philadelphia on July 7. The tour criss-crosses across North America before wrapping up on October 6 at CalJam 2018 in San Bernardino, CA.
