'Flower of Evil' Episode 1 will introduce us to a thriller in which we the viewers will continually straddle between a man who seems to be a loving and doting husband and a man who seems capable of being a cold-blooded killer. Lee Jong-ji as Baek Hee-sung balances a fine line between the two as he comes across as a caring husband of Moon Chae-won's character Cha Ji-won. The two are parents to a young child and on the surface, they are the perfect image of being a happy family.

However, as one watches the entire trailer we understand that the lead character of Hee-sung has a dark past that he hasn't revealed to his family. The show's trailer also hints at how it will flit between the past and present while telling the story of who Hee-sung really is and if he is a serial killer. The trailer also teases at Hee-sung getting together with his wife because she is a detective and with the intention of using her. In fact, he tells the man posing as his father that his feelings for her are only true on the surface and there is not much beyond.

We also see Ji-won investigate a series of murders and she tags the criminal as being dangerous and someone to be careful of. The supposition is that this killer is none other than her husband but then, the trailer also hints at Hee-sung having a reason for everything that he is doing. We see him holding a knife, about to stab someone and there is also a scene of him trading punches with many as well. We can also guess that at one point Ji-won will find the truth about her husband, and we cannot wait to see how the two of them will navigate a relationship that is ridden with dark secrets.

It is also clear that Hee-sung has to tell Ji-won that he had tried to bury all this but hasn't been able. From the first time that the two of them had met to now, he had fallen for her and hoped that she wouldn't be a part of his life but he ended up not being able to help himself. Now that she is a part of his life, his plans are twisted and the reason why he got mixed up with the serial killer business will also begin to unravel little by little.

'Flower of Evil' will air on tvN on Wednesday and Thursday at 10.50 pm KST and can be streamed on Viki Global.
