‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Season 2: Dave calls Jenny 'aged parmesan,' fans say 'that’s a bit cheesy'
On the recent episode of HGTV’s ‘Fixer to Fabulous’ Season 2, Dave and Jenny Marrs renovated a house that was originally built in 1926 and was a home for five generations ever since. The house had a lot of traditional elements and designs to it and the renovation duo managed to preserve its “original charm.” HGTV’s official Twitter handle posted a before and after picture of the renovation with the caption, “Five generations, one house. #FixerToFab with Dave & @marrs_jenny is on Tuesday nights at 9|8c.”

Like always HGTV’s favourite couple Dave and Jenny Marrs were extra cute and flirty this episode like the time when Jenny called Dave in different voice notes because Dave always made excuses that he couldn’t hear Jenny’s tone of voice. HGTV’s official handle posted the video with a caption, “Hmm, that's not Dave — but he sure does look and sound like him!” Or the time when Dave tried to compliment his wife and called her “aged parmesan.” Jenny was not so sure that was a compliment as one of the handymen said, “that could have been aged wine.” One hilarious Twitter post said, “Aged Parmesan? That’s a bit cheesy.”

Dave and Jenny worked on the Brewer house which was built in the 1900s. It is spread over 1,320 square feet and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The original price of the house was $81,000 and they wanted to spend not more than $150,000 on renovation. The house belonged to Dough’s (home-owner) great grandmother and his grandmother was born in the house and that was just one of the special memories that the house consists of. When asked what changes the owners would like to see, Dough said, “I just think it’s kind of ugly.” He further said that the house was a “hodgepodge of different styles” from different eras and he wanted Dave and Jenny to bring it to the current century while preserving the memories. The renovation couple definitely had their work cut out for them!
For the kitchen, Jenny decided to change the entire layout. She opened up the kitchen wall and gave it new countertops. She got French doors installed that connected the kitchen to the porch and added more storage spaces. A viewer of the show thought the huge backyard could have been utilized to create a bigger space for the kitchen, “I think I would have added on to the house with that huge yard and gotten a bigger kitchen,” to which another viewer agreed and responded saying, “I know. I was thinking the same thing, especially with a $150,000 budget.”

Jenny and Dave are owners of a huge farm and multiple farm animals. At one point of the show one of the bulls from the farm gets away and comes to the front yard and Dave requests his neighbour Bob to take care of him in his own farm. Fans of the show commented it wasn’t very strange to have a bull loose in the front yard. “Bull in the front yard seems so normal to me. Anyone else?” Another tweeted, “Bull loose! Is @DaveMarrs going bull roping or riding?” Another tweet commented on the neighbour’s reaction stating, “I’m not sure, but Bob seemed less than excited to have the bull in his field.”

For the finishing touch, the renovation couple had a plaque custom made for the house that said ‘The Brewer House, 1926’. The Brewers were very happy with the renovation and couldn’t wait to start spending the rest of their life there. A fan wrote, “The plaque on the Brewer house is a beautiful touch.”
