If you're one of those who loves watching a good detective show with high-profile cases, we've got some great news for you. CBS has ordered a spin-off of its FBI series, titled 'FBI: Most Wanted'. The upcoming series has been created by René Balcer.

In a backdoor pilot for the first season, the April 2 episode titled 'Most Wanted' offered a glimpse of the new 'Most Wanted' team. 

Release date

There is no official confirmation about the release date of the show yet. Stay tuned for latest updates.

Plot

According to the official plot summary, the series puts the spotlight on "the Fugitive Task Force of the FBI that tracks and captures the notorious criminals on the FBI's Most Wanted list."

Cast

Julian McMahon

The son of former Prime Minister of Australia Sir William McMahon, Julian will be seen in the series as Jess LaCroix. The actor is known for his role in 'Chasing Sleep' (2000) alongside Jeff Daniels, 'Fantastic Four' franchise (2005 and 2007), 'Premonition' (2007), 'Red' (2010) and 'Bait' (2012).

Other members of the cast include Alana de la Garza, Keisha Castle-Hughes, Kellan Lutz, Roxy Sternberg, and Nathaniel Arcand.

René Balcer

Rene Balcer is the creator of the new series. He is known for his work on several TV shows and movies. He won an Emmy in 1997 as showrunner and executive producer of 'Law & Order', a Peabody Award, a Writers Guild of America Award and four Edgar Awards. 

Dick Wolf

Wolf, the original creator of 'FBI' is set to write and produce the spin-off series as well. Known for his work in the 'Chicago' franchise, he has won numerous awards, including an Emmy Award and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. It is being speculated that Wolf will have several follow-up series based on FBI cases in the near future.

Rene Balcer is another writer on the series. Meanwhile, Arthur W. Forney and Peter Jankowski are executive producers on the show.
