Fans fuming after 'Yellowstone' drama hits PaleyFest as Kevin Costner and main cast drop out of panel

'You should have informed people ahead of time or cancelled the panel,' a fan wrote

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The main cast of 'Yellowstone' and Kevin Costner skipped the PaleyFest 2023 panel meeting, leaving fans disappointed. Peopel spent $100 on passes, hoping to interact with their favorite team. However, Costner and the team decided to withdraw from the event at the last minute. 

The only cast members who showed up were Josh Lucas, Mo Brings Plenty, Dawn Olivieri and Wendy Moniz, along with Paramount Network development president Keith Cox for the discussion. The panel was held to interact with fans and discuss the way forward with them, as per Vulture.

Which are the stars skipped PaleyFest 2023? 

Costner, Kelly Reilly, Cole Hauser, Luke Grimes, Kelsey Asbille, Wes Bentley, Gil Birmingham and Jacki Weaver, as well as creator Taylor Sheridan and executive producer David Glasser, who were advertised to be a part of the panel, did not attend. On being asked about Costner's status on the show, Cox said, “What I can say is that our star, the face of our show, and our executive producer, are very confident he is going to continue with our show,” adding, “We’re about to announce the next season soon.”  

The attendees were heard shouting, “Where are they,” and many walked out and demanded refunds from the PaleyFest staffers. On seeing the panel, a person in the audience was heard asking, "Are you kidding?" the audience were heard interrupting the panel many times.

When asked about the show after the panel, Moniz told Yahoo Entertainment on the red carpet, "I have no news to report. I just know that Taylor's writing and we know he's a prolific writer and I'm excited to see it when it comes."

'How do we get a refund?'

Netizens left angry reactions on social media after Costner and the main cast skipped the convention. A user wrote, "I feel like I was taken to the train last night by @paleycenter and the main cast of @Yellowstone when they didn’t show up at last nt’s paleyfest panel. #paleyfest #yellowstone #sodisappointed." Another wrote, "I was super excited for the @paleycenter for Yellowstone this evening and we were so disappointed! To have a panel without any of the main actor's is so upsetting. I respect the actor's that were present, however, that is not what we paid to see." "How do we get a refund? You should have informed people ahead of time or cancelled the panel," wrote another.

More angry fans spoke out as well. One wrote, "You guys knew the listed cast wasn’t showing up and didn’t let fans know?? So disrespectful. All credibility has been lost for future panels." Another noted, "Went to BOTH Mandalorian & Yellowstone events. BOTH extremely disappointing. Ive been to Paleyfest events for SOA, Walking Dead, Homeland, FTWD & am a @paleycenter member there were so many things wrong BOTH days! No respect for our time & patronage anymore. Canceling membership." "To see so many people with same disappointment and walk out speaks volumes!! I would like a refund!!" read a tweet. "Are you joking? My wife is there with her 85 year old father who adores the Yellowstone show. @paleycenter you just made a joke of your festival. So many years of good times and now the trust is gone. SHAME!!!!!," another user wrote.
