BIGGEST SHOW OF THE YEAR! Fans elated after 'Yellowstone' Season 5 SHATTERS viewing records
Paramount’s ‘Yellowstone’ has been one of the influential shows in recent times and it keeps on getting better with each passing episode. Season 4 of the western drama ended on a high with a record-breaking audience tuning in to watch the series. So, it doesn’t come as a shock that everyone had huge hopes from the premiere of Season 5 and is eagerly waiting to see if it could replicate the success of the previous. Finally, the numbers are in and the premiere of the ongoing season has passed the challenge with flying colors.
Season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ opened with John Dutton (Kevin Costner) winning the elections and becoming the new Governor of Montana. The owner of ‘Yellowstone’ ranch made one thing clear he is not going to let big corporations destroy the beauty of the state and announced that he will be sitting with his cabinet to stop some really key infrastructure projects. However, he told Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Beth (Kelly Reilly) that he is mainly doing this to save the ranch. Dutton’s family and supporters are really happy and are celebrating, but it all comes crashing down when they get to know Kayce’s wife Monica and their son Tate have suffered a lot of injuries due to a devastating accident. It turns out that Baby Dutton is dead after the accident and that horrifying death means that no one is safe this time around.

The premiere went on to impress everyone and saw a dramatic increase in viewership from the last season. According to Variety, the premiere of ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 was seen by over 12.1 million viewers on Sunday, November 13. The newly-released figures mean that it even passed HBO’s ‘House of the Dragon’ which drew in 10 million viewers for its Season 1 premiere. The report also noted that a total of 8.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the premiere on Paramount Network alone, which is a 10% increase from the last season’s premiere.
On the other hand, Collider cited Nielsen Fast National Ratings and reported that there was a 52% increase in the demographic of 18-34-year-olds who tuned in to watch the season premiere.
The series continues to be a rage among viewers and they are tuning in large numbers to show how influential this show really is even when it doesn’t get any love during the awards season. However, fans were extremely happy after the news surfaced online and thanked the makers for finally giving a show that’s well-written and is not filled with “woke” crap. One of the fans wrote, “We were just bummed there wasn't a 3rd hour to watch! Thank you to EVERYONE on the show for giving television a show that's well written, acted, produced and not full of woke crap!” Another fan tweeted, “So glad your back. Hard to wait a week for more but 2hr opening was great.”

Apart from the original characters, the show has also introduced some new characters like Sarah Atwood (Dawn Olivieri) who has been put forward to tackle the Duttons, especially Beth. With the Duttons going through a personal tragedy and John entangled in the duties of being a Governor, we can expect a lot of twists, turns, and deaths this time around.
Season 5 of ‘Yellowstone’ will return to Paramount Network with a new episode this Sunday, November 20, at 9 pm EST.
