Will Frank Ocean and Brent Faiyaz battle it out on Verzuz? Fans demand to see R&B superstars clash live
Timbaland and Swizz Beatz's live webcast show Verzuz has been gaining increased traction online ever since the record-breaking episode featuring R&B superstars Monica and Brandy. This last episode of Verzuz was watched by more than 1.2 million people on Instagram Live breaking all previous records of attendance. Fans then called upon Verzuz to invite Ashanti for a battle with either Jennifer Lopez, Keyshia Cole or Ciara.

Fans of the two singers took to Twitter and expressed their desire to watch the two young stars battle it out. One fan urged Verzuz to bring Frank Ocean and Brent Faiyaz to the battle saying, "alright, hear me out".

Others said that a Verzuz battle featuring Frank Ocean must have The Weeknd as the opponent as the two are at the forefront of modern R&B and soul music. A fan tweeted saying, "Nah. Frank Ocean and the Weeknd tho? I'd like to see that."

While both Frank Ocean and Brent Faiyaz have been important figures in recent R&B music, Ocean's impact on hip-hop and pop music as a whole has been quite visible since the release of his 2012 album 'Channel Orange'. Both artistes have released two albums each though Ocean hasn't dropped a new record since 2016's 'Blonde'.
Best known for featuring on the triple-platinum single 'Crew' by Goldlink, Faiyaz's last album was released in 2020 titled 'F**k the World'. Like Ocean, Faiyaz is known for his smooth vocals and incorporating various genres into his music. With fans eagerly demanding a battle between Frank Ocean and Brent Faiyaz, it'll be interesting to see if the two stars entertain the idea or ignore it for the time being.
