'I told jokes': F Murray Abraham apologizes after sexual misconduct claims that led to 'Mythic Quest' exit
CUPERTINO, CALIFORNIA: F Murray Abraham apologized after he was accused of sexual misconduct that led to his termination from 'Mythic Quest'. The 83-year-old actor blamed his "jokes" that unintentionally "upset" others working on the Apple TV+ series.
"This is a sincere and deeply felt apology. Though never my intention to offend anyone, I told jokes, nothing more, that upset some of my colleagues and as a result lost a great job with wonderful people," Abraham said in an apologetic statement. "I have grown in my understanding from this experience, and I hope they will forgive me," he added, reported New York Post.

Abraham was initially given a warning
The 'White Lotus' actor was fired from the comedy series after two concerns were raised against him on set. As per a production source, the actor was initially given a warning following the first incident where he was required to stay away from some of the actresses on the show. The second concern raised was brought to the attention of Rob McElhenney, the show's star, and creator. This incident led to the actor's sudden exit from the show in April 2022. On Monday, April 17, Lionsgate, the show's production company stated, "We take allegations of misconduct seriously and investigate them thoroughly. As a matter of corporate policy, we do not discuss our personnel actions."
What was Abraham's role in the 'Mythic Quest'?
In the comedy television series 'Mythic Quest,' Abraham played the role of a head game writer named C W Longbottom which was written off the show following his termination after the second season. Talking to Vanity Fair in 2021, the Oscar winner called his role on the show a "special gift," and he found a "community" on the set.
The show's third season premiere aired in November 2022 and worked on the 'Amadeus' actor's exit where his character Longbottom leaves behind a letter in the office found by the main characters who learn that the head game writer has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. The character then drove off a Grand Canyon cliff to end his life.
"It's a bummer to not have Murray in this season. But we recognize that C W is a beloved character and obviously a huge part of the show. So, we made sure that we have a really fitting tribute to him. We definitely address it in a big way," said McElhenney.
