Cannibalism allegations return to haunt Armie Hammer after probe into ex-partner's claims including rape

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Armie Hammer has been under investigation following his former girlfriend's sexual assault allegations made against him. The woman has accused him of raping her which led to the investigation against the actor by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office. DA rep Tiffiny Blacknell said, "I can confirm that the LAPD has presented a case regarding Armie Hammer to the (Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office). The matter is currently under review."
The DA's office has not revealed who filed the complaint without specifying who made the complaint. However, in 2021, Effie Angelova, 26, the ex-girlfriend of the 'Call Me By Your Name' actor accused him of abusing her "mentally, emotionally, and sexually," and "violently" raping her in 2017, reported the Daily Mail.

Hammer's slew of wrongdoings
The 36-year-old actor who was not charged in the criminal case denied the allegations. An attorney on behalf of Hammer said that during the four-year relationship between him and Angelova and also with other partners, their relationship has been "completely consensual, discussed and agreed upon in advance, and mutually participatory." The disgraced actor has also been accused of being into BDSM fantasies and cannibalistic fetishes.
Hammer claimed he contemplated suicide
Amid the allegations, Hammer recently said he contemplated suicide following his career downfall. Amid the backlash in February 2021 during the media scrutiny after the allegations, the actor who recalled living in the Cayman Islands at the time said, "I just walked out into the ocean and swam out as far as I could and hoped that either I drowned, or was hit by a boat, or eaten by a shark."
The embattled actor who shares two children, six-year-old Ford, and eight-year-old Harper, with ex-partner Elizabeth Chambers, said, "Then I realized that my kids were still on shore and that I couldn’t do that to my kids." Months before the allegations, Chamber filed to divorce him.
Talking about his alleged relationships with victims Paige Lorenze, and Courtney Vucekovich and the age difference, he said, "I would have these younger women in their mid-20s, and I’m in my 30s. I was a successful actor at the time. They could have been happy to just be with me and would have said yes to things that maybe they wouldn’t have said yes to on their own. That’s an imbalance of power in the situation."
Following the rape allegations, Hammer was let go from several projects after WME, his former agency, and his personal publicist dropped him, reported NY Post.
