The sixth and final season of NBC’s hit drama ‘This Is Us’ just aired its penultimate episode and took us on a journey that was very hard to watch. It was emotional and filled with moments that as a kid you don’t want to see. Rebecca Pearson (Mandy Moore) finally bid farewell to everyone as she walked into the light after taking the train journey that her dad always promised.

In her final moments, Rebecca was waiting for someone on the train while wearing a gorgeous red gown. She hears a voice and we realize that it’s none other than William (Ron Cephas Jones), the biological father of Randall (Sterling K. Brown), who died when Randall was really young. Rebecca’s final journey saw her seeing her kids in a good place and having better lives. But when William told her to finally rest, she said “no” because Kate (Chrissy Metz) was not present there.

When Kate arrives, it’s only then she decided to take the much-deserved rest and re-unite with Jack Pearson. Her entire journey has been nothing but extraordinary and fans didn’t take too much in realizing how emotional they got after seeing Rebecca on that train. Fans labeled the episode as one of the finest episodes ever and stated that they were not ready for such emotional sequences.

One of the fans wrote, “Not a week has passed since I started watching #ThisIsUs that @ThisIsUsWriters and talented cast haven’t made me cry. Not a single solitary week. Watched all a hundred billion episodes over 6 years and each and every episode was amazing. Thank you, folks.”

Another fan tweeted, “Exquisitely done!! Hats off to the beautiful writing and acting in this moving episode. May we all be so lucky to have our lives come to an end so eloquently as Rebecca’s did.” Another social media user wrote, “#ThisIsUs has penned the best transition of life on television. So beautifully done.”

Meanwhile, one of the fans said, “I knew this would be brutal but this is another level.” Another fan tweeted, “My Tuesday tears are cathartic. I needed this emotional cleanse.”

“Crying. I absolutely love Rebecca s train ride with her loved ones to her final station. She looks so beautiful and peaceful. Perfection” wrote another fan. “Just about halfway through and this is the most beautifully written and performed episode ever. The way it is portraying Rebecca’s transition from box car to box car seeing snippets of her life and the people in it is just AMAZING,” said another one.

“WHO WROTE THIS EPISODE? WHO DIRECTED THIS EPISODE? GIVE THEM THEIR THINGS!” wrote another fan of the show.

Rebecca is now re-united with Jack while the Big Three are now going to have to carry forward their legacy. With only one episode remaining, it’s going to be one emotional finale.

'This Is Us' Season 6 returns to NBC for the final episode next Tuesday at 9 pm EST.
