'This Is Us' Season 6 Episode 13: Rebecca's health struggles reveal the end is near
Even though the Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Toby (Chris Sullivan) saga ended last week, it’s tonight that it became official that Phillip and Kate have become a couple. However, it started on a devastating note because Alzheimer’s is making things worse for Rebecca as he starts missing Jack. But things get even worse when they get together for a family photo. Everyone is feeling and making jokes about Senator Randall Pearson. That’s when Rebecca (Mandy Moore) says that she can’t wait for Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) to arrive at the wedding.
Randall (Sterling K. Brown) says that “dad” hasn’t been with us for a long time and the moment he says that Rebecca gets really irritated. Kevin came in close and stood next to his mother for the family photo. After the photo-op, Kevin (Justin Hartley) tells Randall that their mother is at that stage where she shouldn’t be corrected. Randall believes that she shouldn’t perform at Kate’s wedding because that would be too much for her, but Phillip (Chris Geere) tells him that music is good for her soul and when she finds the key, she will find her mojo.

Randall talks to her about the performance when Miguel (Jon Huertas) says that they should go together for wine tasting. They both talk about Rebecca’s condition but Miguel says that he took this break so that they won’t talk about Alzheimer’s. However, Randall understands that Miguel’s health is getting worse as well because his hands were shaking while holding the glass and he saw “blood pressure” medicines with Miguel’s name written on it.
Meanwhile, Rebecca is enjoying her time with Nicky and his wife. She sees Jack coming inside the room and when she feels that he’s looking a bit worried, she says that they should take a walk. It is revealed that she is seeing Jack in Kevin. They both take a walk where she suddenly understands that she is walking with Kevin, but suddenly tells Kevin that “he just needs time because he married young”. Once again, she felt she was walking with Kevin.
It’s time for the wedding to take place and the couple read their vows as the reception moves forward. Randall’s speech really made everyone feel emotional while Kevin’s speech made everyone laugh and feel weird as well. Randall introduced Rebecca for the performance but she was clueless about it and Miguel had to tell her that it was time for her song.
Initially, it takes her some time to play piano in tune, but when she does find her tune, she gives a performance that makes everyone cry. Randall understands that his mom is sick and Miguel is getting old, so things are moving really fast and he knows where things are headed.
Elsewhere, we see Madison (Caitlin Thompson) and Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) turning their detective hats on and finding who Kevin slept with. So, was it Cassidy or Sophie? Or the gorgeous-looking wedding singer played by Katie Lowes.
The episode ends with a revelation that he was with all three of them, but who did he sleep with? Or did he sleep with anyone or just had a meaningful conversation? Maybe, he’s getting another chance in finding love.
