'Evil' Episode 4 terrifies fans by taking the idea of a normal kid turning psychopathic and murderous to a whole new level

There's sibling rivalry and then there's drowning your baby sister in the pool because you prayed about it

This article contains spoilers for Episode 4 'Rose390'.

Children used as elements of horror in movies and TV shows is nothing new, but CBS' 'Evil' takes our fear of Samara from 'The Ring' and pretty much every kid on the 'Sinister' movie franchise to a whole other level.

Tonight's new case deals with a picture-perfect family being haunted by their own child who literally drowned his own baby sister.

In this week's episode of 'Evil', Dr. Kristen Bouchard and priest-in-training David Acosta work together and separately, on two absolutely terrifying hauntings, courtesy kids.

On Kristen's end, there is a child ghost eerier than the murky and dripping Samara from 'The Ring' who resides inside a virtual reality video game. She lures Kristen's kids into playing with her a demonic game of summoning spirits from Hell using Ouija boards.

She doesn't stop at that: little Rose, even after being warned off pretty sternly by Kristen and David's co-partner, Ben Shakir, returns to enamor Kristen's daughters once again later in the episode.

This time, she tricks them into believing through the Ouija's answers that their father is dead. Pretty sick, right?

A child haunting other children, crushing their hopes and dreams is not only morbid but makes one rethink the whole aspect of your kids making their own friends. Are other children fit for friendship?

On David's end, however, there is a seemingly normal looking kid, very inspired by David's faith to ask God for everything he wants. Somehow, these wishes of the kid are not innocent at all: while he gets down on his knees and prays to what he calls 'God'.

His 'God' also helps him mysteriously drown his baby sister without getting wet. The kid's parents think he might have been possessed by a demon, and even Kristen rules it beyond the explanations of psychology — something that has caused quite the shock in the show's fandom.

Reacting on Twitter, one user expressed concern during an advertisement slot, writing: "Hopefully after the commercial break, we can all let the oxygen back into the room and worry more about spooky video games and less about psychopathic siblings throwing babies in the pool."

Another user chimed in saying: "Yeah....creepy older baby-killer Brother Eric definitely needs some group therapy/supervision."

Knowing the contemporary aversion to kids, it's surprising that fans didn't jump on the "Never having kids" bandwagon, but they did come up with more solid conclusions and analogies.

One user shared: "Hear me out here. What if the little boy knows his baby sister is the demon and he's just trying to save them all? and come to think of it, it's quite possible!"

'Evil' airs on Thursdays at 10 pm only on CBS.
