While talk show host Wendy Williams battles with multiple health issues, recent reports state that 'The Wendy Williams Show' will be officially coming to an end this June, and interim series host Sherri Shepherd has finalized her deal for a program that will replace Wendy's show this fall. As of now, Sherri has been named a 'permanent guest host.'

Sources close to production told Love B. Scott, "The producers informed everyone that the [Wendy Show] was being canceled at the end of June. Then in the next breath, they hired everyone to work on the new Sherri show." Wendy has been dealing with health battles and multiple hiatuses, but Debmar-Mercury decided to renew Wendy's show after their planned replacement, 'The Jerry O'Connell Show' received awful ratings.

When people became aware of the rumors, they were left shocked and quickly expressed their feelings. Award-winning comedian Loni Love tweeted, "Wendy Williams revolutionized daytime tv.. this woman would open her show BY HERSELF for 20 minutes and keep the audience captivated! Agree or disagree with her no one can deny her skill for talk.. I have learned a lot from you @WendyWilliams and wish you well.." Author and producer Tamron Hall said, "I am so happy to see this new video of Wendy walking on the beach in Florida. Wendy Williams did what so many others couldn’t in daytime TV and I hope she returns when she is ready." Commentator Lex Stylz commented, "Despite all her controversies over the years, Wendy Williams is a legend and deserves her flowers."

A user praised Wendy saying, "The fact is no one can or will do daytime like Wendy Williams. An end of an era. 15 years strong is no small feat. Unfiltered, raw, real, authentic, unapologetic and carried the show simply off her brand which was gossip. No one can replace her. I wish her well with her health." Another said, "Wendy Williams may have been a messy talk show host but she's legendary and her talk show moments will go down in the history books" A third wrote, "Nobody can convince me that any replacement will possess the same energy on set as Wendy Williams. There is no other, and will be no other show like it on daytime television. Truly sad to see it end."

One user said, "It's the end of an era. What we cannot say is that Wendy Williams didn't leave her mark on Radio, Television, Hip-Hop and tabloid culture." While one user felt nostalgic, "The Wendy Williams show getting canceled feels like a loss as it’s been around literally since I was a 15 year old girl," another posted a fancam as a tribute to her, "Wendy Williams: icon, legend, The moment." Writer Brittny Pierre tweeted, "Wendy Williams is the queen of radio, daytime tv, and gossip! She paved the way for all the bloggers, podcasters & Insta stories. She hosted her syndicated talk show for 15 years, delivering tea and endless memes. I can’t wait for her to get healthy and see what she does next!"

Other users expressed how sad they felt on hearing the news of the show's cancellation. One said, "Y'all may think of her as just a meme queen but i really watched every episode of the Wendy Williams show like everyday for years. Wendy literally makes me laugh and she gives me such joy to watch so these rumours are kinda devastating to hear. I followed her and her journey," while another mentioned, "the wendy williams show being cancelled due to her health problems is actually so sad. i wish she was able to end the show on her own terms. she’s forever going to be a tv icon tho"

Recently, Wendy made a new personal account on Instagram with the username @TheRealWendyWilliamsOnline, since the @WendyShow account is no longer under her control. She posted a video of her on a beach and captioned it, "It's a beautiful morning!! as she lets everyone know that she is doing okay.

Wendy's publicist told Page Six, "She thanks everyone who has been patiently awaiting her return and believes that, thanks in large part to the love and support of her son, her family, her new team of doctors and a change of scenery, she is on the mend. Wendy says to all her fans, ‘How you doing?' Please send positive messages, energy, and affirmations to her social media that she can read daily."
