Emmys 2020: 'Killing Eve' sees zero wins, dejected fans say Sandra Oh and the show were 'robbed' of awards

While fans of the show eagerly waited to see if Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, or Fiona Shaw would take home the honor for any of the categories, Emmys 2020 concluded without a single win for 'Killing Eve'

Although Emmys 2020 witnessed a couple of powerful speeches and memorable moments, the television award ceremony is drawing the ire of viewers for ignoring a few series that deserved to be recognized. BBC's drama spy thriller 'Killing Eve' was one of the unfortunate few that couldn't make the cut.

The series and the actors were nominated under five categories including the Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. While fans of the show eagerly waited to see if any of their favorite stars -- Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, or Fiona Shaw -- would take home the honor for any of the categories, Emmys 2020 concluded without a single win for 'Killing Eve'.

This didn't go well with fans for the obvious reasons, as they took to Twitter to express disappointment in Emmys 2020 for blatantly overlooking the hit series, which came to be known for its social, thematic, and creative context. Soon, many fans extended their support to the stars of the show on the micro-blogging site and reminded them that they were loved irrespective of their performance at the Emmys 2020.

One of Oh's fans, talking about her not winning Emmys, tweeted, "Sandra Oh being a 12 time Emmy Nominee with zero wins just doesn’t sit right with me. When is queen getting her due? (Okay yes this season of Killing Eve wasn’t her strongest, but please give her one already)," while another added, "I really liked the winners of this emmys edition really but i'm pretty sad bc of killing eve, normal people and laura dern really." Seconding the previous tweets, one expressed, "Killing Eve was robbed, most importantly Sandra Oh was robbed off another #emmy"

Meanwhile, some fans are of the opinion that 'Killing Eve' did not win any Emmys 2020 as the story arc for the last season did not do justice to Oh's character. As fans of the show began debating over the same, one Twitter user wrote, "Killing eve didn’t win because the lack of sandra oh made it a bad season #Emmys" and another tweeted, "Ehh, that’s where you and I have differing opinions. I think her strongest performance in killing eve was season 2. But Jodie won her first Emmy last year for season 2, which was also well deserved. I think Sandra should look at other projects aside from KE"
