Emma Roberts, who has been dating actor Garrett Hedlund since March 2019, has reportedly split from him a few weeks ago. The news of two breaking up was confirmed by People magazine as a source spilled the beans saying they were trying their best to co-parent their son. Emma and Garrett celebrated the very first birthday of their son Rhodes Roberts in December 2021 with a rodeo-themed party.
Roberts has been dating the ‘Troy’ star for close to three years. The ‘Wild Child’ actress, who enjoys close to 18 million followers on Instagram, has so far not commented anything on her reported split. Garrett, on the other hand, usually stays off social media. None of the actors’ reps have shed light on the current status of their relationship. Prior to dating Hedlund, Roberts was in a tumultuous relationship with Evan Peters.

While both Emma and Garrett are off the grid as of now, multiple sources told People magazine that the duo broke things off a few weeks ago. The 30-year-old actress and the 37-year-old actor were reportedly going through a rough patch for the last few months. An insider dropped a hint about the situation to People magazine saying, “It's sad, and they are trying their best to co-parent. Roberts has always been private about her love life. In an interview with Cosmopolitan in 2019, the New York native asserted, “I never want to talk about relationships I'm in or that are ending or have ended.” She added, “It's hard enough to be with someone by yourself, let alone with an audience. Growing up is hard." While Emma dated Evan Peters from 2012 to 2019, Garrett was briefly engaged to Kirsten Dunst. The two dated from 2012 to 2016.

A source earlier spoke to People magazine revealing that Garrett "totally stepped it up" to support Emma after they welcomed their first son in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. “Having a newborn in the pandemic has been a lot harder than either of them expected, but they're really, really trying their best to figure things out," said the source adding, “Garrett totally stepped it up after Emma was still recovering after giving birth. He made sure that their house was stocked with things that Emma liked and needed so she felt comfortable. She's just starting to get back into a more 'normal' routine."
