Golden Globes 2021: Emma Corrin wins Best Actress in a Drama for 'The Crown', fans say she's 'the only option'

 Fans were also rejoicing over the reactions of Corrin's worthy contenders Olivia Colman and Sarah Paulson

The 78th Golden Globe Awards kicked off with much fanfare on Sunday, February 28, 2021, with comedians Tina Fey and Amy Poehler hosting the ceremony from two different locations, marking the first bicoastal event in the history of the awards show. 

Fey hosted the ceremony from New York City's Rainbow Room while Poehler was present at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. All eyes were on who would win the Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series – Drama category and the winner was Emma Corrin for Netflix's 'The Crown' where she played the late Princess Diana. The other nominations for the category included: Olivia Colman for 'The Crown', Jodie Comer for 'Killing Eve', Laura Linney for 'Ozark' and Sarah Paulson for 'Ratched'.

'Jodie Comer's reaction was kinda shady'

Emma Corrin was a fan favorite. "EMMA CORRIN GOLDEN GLOBES WINNER WAS THE ONLY OPTION #GoldenGlobes", said fans. Fans were also rejoicing over the reactions of Corrin's worthy contenders Olivia Colman and Sarah Paulson. "I can't stop watching Olivia Colman's celebratory dance for Emma Corrin #GoldenGlobes," said a fan. "The best part of this #GoldenGlobes so far is Sarah Paulson and Olivia Colman demanding Emma Corrin go find her cat", said another. Another added, "OLIVIA COLMAN BEING HAPPY FOR EMMA CORRIN I’M CRYING THESE TWO WOMEN WERE SO POWERFUL IN THE CROWN TOGETHER #GoldenGlobes". "Sarah Paulson’s reaction to Emma Corrin winning is too f*****g pure," said another.

Some were concerned about Comer's reaction since the actor seemed to be the only one who didn't look like they were rejoicing. "Jodie comers reaction to emma corrin kinda shady...", said fans.

The official 2021 Golden Globe Awards was telecasted on February 28 at 8 pm ET and the pre-show was streamed live from the official @GoldenGlobes Twitter account and on the website goldenglobes.com at 6.30 pm ET.
