Fans are convinced that rapper Eminem was trying to wish pop star Billie Eilish on her 19th birthday. Eminem surprise dropped his new album 'Music To Be Murdered By – Side B' today, on December 18. Coincidentally or not, Eilish was also celebrating her 19th birthday on the same day. In one of his tracks, 'Alfred’s Theme', Eminem raps, “But really I’m just fulfilling my wish of killing rhymes / Which is really childish and silly, but I’m really like this / I’m giving nightmares to Billie Eilish.” Just before this, he says, "Shit, hold on, man / Motherf**ker / Happy birthday to— / F**k (Shh, quiet)" after talking about washing his hands. The rap works both ways because people have been singing "Happy Birthday" twice to time their hand-washing and Billie Eilish herself has been vocal about following safety protocols like washing hands.

The rapper's rhymes also reference what Eilish said about him in a 2019 interview. In case you don't know this -- here's a refresher. When asked to pick between Childish Gambino and Eminem as rap artists, she revealed that she had been "scared of Eminem" her whole life. "Terrified. That dude freaked the fuck out of me. Oh my god," she said, before picking Childish Gambino over Eminem. Ergo, the "giving nightmares to Billie Eilish" line.

One fan said: "Was Eminem about to say Happy Birthday Billie Eilish?!", posting screenshots of 'Alfred’s Theme', while another commenting on the tweet said: "This was a double entendre. 1. At the beginning of the pandemic they told us to wash our hands for 20 seconds, to help us they would tell us to sing happy birthday twice. If you listen closely you can hear water running in the background. 2. Happy Birthday Billie I guess".

Another fan also outlined the theory of the rapper subtly wishing Eilish 'Happy Birthday' the day she turned 19 with this track. In his tweet, he says, "So in Alfred's Theme Eminem starts to singing Happy birthday and after that he does Billie Eilish scheme. And today is actually Billie's birthday. And that Billie line is actually referring to one of her interview[s]. Not accident?"

Another Twitter user commented: "Loved the way #Eminem dropped this on #BillieEilish 's birthday", while another tweet remarked: "Eminem really sang Happy Birthday to @billieeilish". Others were less sure, but found the coincidence of Eminem's album drop on Eilish's birthday to be quite telling. "#Eminem #BillieEilish Releases the new album on Billie's birthday!! Coincidence?? I think not!!!"

Eilish marked her own birthday on Instagram with a cute throwback picture of her as a toddler in a pink hat, captioning it "19". For now, she hasn't commented on fan theories about Eminem's lyrics about her.

In case you are a fan like Eminem of the pop star, check out the trailer, released on December 15, for 'Billie Eilish: The World's A Little Blurry'. The documentary, which tells the "true coming-of-age story" about the 19-year-old star will be released on Apple TV+ on February 26, 2021.
