Eminem easily managed to break the Internet on Monday, July 11 after he announced a new compilation album of one of his greatest hits. What are the easter eggs from Eminem’s ‘Curtain Call 2’?
The album cover of ‘Curtain Call 2’ revealed by Eminem contains a host hints towards his previous projects. Since the album is going to be a compilation of some of his greatest hits released after 2009, fans on Reddit guessed the various easter eggs quite easily. For example, the fighter plane featured in center-left of the cover art clearly refers to the cover art of his 2018 album ‘Kamikaze’. The buildings spotted right at the center below refers to his native Detroit. Therefore, the song ‘Detroit vs Everybody’ is expected to make a cut in the album. The main image right in the middle where Eminem can be seen posing with his hands as devil horns is associated with his ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2.’
Eminem holding a shovel while digging a grave is an ode to his album called ‘Music to be Murdered By’ whereas the ghost appearing on the top right apparently refers to his ‘Bad Meets Evil's Hell: The Sequel’ CD. The words “Game Over” spotted on the cover might refer to an upcoming diss on rapper The Game. A few on social media also spoke about the numbers spotted on the album cover. While some assumed it to be the album sales of his previous projects, they actually turned out to be words like ‘Bobbs’, ‘Hellish’, and ‘A**hol’. According to multiple reports, the new album will only contain one unreleased song and the rest of the songs will be from 2009’s ‘Relapse’, 2010’s ‘Recovery’, 2013’s ‘The Marshall Mathers LP 2’, 2017’s ‘Revival’, 2018’s ‘Kamikaze’, and 2020’s ‘Music to Be Murdered By’ and ‘Music to Be Murdered By - Side B (Deluxe Edition).’
Hip-hop fans decode easter eggs from ‘Curtain Call 2’ cover art
Social media users quickly logged into Reddit to decode the easter eggs as one of the users stated, “The Revival reference is in the way the title is written. Also, those stars that represent america. Still a Revival reference.” Another posted, “The ghost is Bad Meets Evil CD.” The next one claimed, “I think the pills in which the numbers are displayed on are meant to represent Relapse.” Another added, “The city one is Recovery without a doubt.”
One Reddit user posted, “The ghost thing being old Eminem could apply to any other old Eminem album as well. So that’s a weird explanation for it being a reference for Relapse. I’d say it might be because of the horrorcore vibes or as a reference to songs like 3 am. The Revival thing is actually from Recovery. If I’m correct that’s the shape of Detroit, which is shown in the alternative album cover you can find inside the CD (maybe vinyl too?). The SHADYXV reference might be correct, but that’s also just Shady’s old school looks as well.” Another shared, “I actually think that the flags and stars under the title are meant to represent Revival. The pills with the numbers on them are meant to represent Relapse, it seems. I’ve also seen from twitter that the ghost near his ear was the same ghost on the Bad Meets Evil Hell: The Sequel CD. Fast Lane confirmed for CC2?”

One user said, “The city is clearly Detroit. Detroit vs everybody is definitely gonna be on here” as another mentioned, “Ghost is blatantly a Bad Meets Evil reference. Check the disc for Hell: The Sequel.” One discussed the numbers on the album saying, “6 is credit or turns = 6 albums (mtbmb was a double). 1 player out of four lot up, he's a solo artist not a group. He's a 1 player game. 70 is the ref I can't see.”
