'Dancing with the Stars' season 27: DeMarcus Ware fractures finger rehearsing for upcoming episode

Former NFL star, DeMarcus Ware has proven to be quite the gem in his journey of ABC's hit reality dance show, 'Dancing with the Stars' season 27 so far. Scoring top scores on the very first night and then following it up with equally stellar performances with his pro-partner on the show, Lindsay Arnold, Ware was one of our top picks as contenders who would definitely be in the finals. But in recent updates, Ware's journey looks a little hindered as of now, as the pro-footballer recently suffered a serious injury while rehearsing for his upcoming performance.

While he might be a pro at battling injuries in the field, the gruesome video Ware shared on Twitter on Tuesday was enough to put off many. In the middle of practicing for Week 4 of the competition, Ware suffered an injury which was severe enough to cause his finger to bend in a way disturbing enough to leave anybody who witnessed the video, shaken.

He might have captioned the video "slight issue," but by the looks of it, it's beyond just slight. It sure looks like he has broken his finger, and this comes just a week after former 'Facts of Life' star Nancy McKeon - who was voted out of the competition in its most recent episode - had fractured her foot on the show right ahead of her week two performance.

Addressing the injury, Ware followed his first video up with another one which showed him all smiles and finally diagnosing himself, saying: "I think I broke my finger." And clearly smiling through the pain, Ware acknowledged "this hurt so freaking bad right now," while his pro-dancer Arnold grimaced, "I can't look at it."

From the looks of it, the former linebacker filmed the video as he rode shotgun to a hospital; Arnold was driving the car, with former running back Rashad Jennings in the backseat.

Jennings - who had won the coveted Mirrorball trophy in the show's season 24 - is expected to be Ware's special guest for next week's trio dances

"We are having trio bonding time," Ware quipped as the trio traveled to the hospital. Despite having broken his finger, Ware also added you "can't break this smile" alongside throwing in a couple of vows to get right back to practice the soonest he can. "We are going to pop this thing in and we are going to get back to the dance floor," he stated, so another perfect score of something equally solid could be on the cards for him any day now!
