'Dancing with the Stars': Nev Schulman's subtle jab at Donald Trump after jive performance wins fans over

Nev Schulman dedicated his 'Dancing with the Stars' performance on icon's week to Elton John. During his rehearsals, in a conversation with his partner, pro-dancer Jenna Johnson, Nev called Elton his number one icon. Nev's love for him also stems from the fact that Elton has been a part of a lot of musicals, the ones that he ended up going to a lot as a kid. In his performance on Monday night's episode, he was as good as Jenna, a remarkable feat. Nev is a professionally trained dancer, so there was no dearth of confidence in his performance, there's never been. He's always brought it on the dance floor, also becoming the first contestant this season to earn a perfect 30 from all the judges. 

They did the jive on Elton's 'Saturday Night's Alright' and the judges loved all the crazy dynamic energy they brought during the performance. All three judges loved what they brought to the stage during the routine. Derek Hough pointed out that he'd have loved to see a little more pump in the routine that could've taken it to the next level, however, he maintained that the growth they've exhibited during their time on the show has been amazing. Bruno Tonioli called Nev an entertainer, praising him for bringing characters to life in all his performances. Carrie Ann Inaba too had only nice things to say about him. Nev and Jenna received 9s across the board for this performance.

Nev gets his love for the performing arts from his mother who was a dancer, growing up. Her dreams to pursue a career as one came to a screeching halt after being diagnosed with scoliosis at the age of 15. All the love that she had for the art translated to Nev and he said that he's no longer just the 'Catfish' guy but now he's also the "dancer guy". Nev also gave out a secret that he's harbored dreams of being in a Broadway musical and after his stint on 'DWTS', hopes to be in one.

Tyra asked Nev a question on behalf of all fans. She wanted to know if he was hinting at a Broadway debut after 'DWTS' now that he'd spoken about that being his dream. "Now that we have a new president, we may have broadway open soon huh?" Nev said, shading Donald Trump who's yet to concede, with this subtle jab. 

"Also, I would love to see Nev on Broadway. That would be great! #DWTS" wrote a fan about his performance on Twitter. "Nev dancing to the truest icon of all time... I’m LOVING IT #DWTS," tweeted another. "Nev with the subtle presidential jab lolol #DWTS" read another tweet. "So thrilled that Nev is easily going to win #DWTS this season because he is such an entertaining dancer!" wrote another fan. 

'Dancing with the Stars' airs Mondays at 8 pm ET on ABC.
