Who is Durte Dom? David Dobrik's Vlog Squad member accused of rape, Internet says duo 'belongs in jail'
Celebrity YouTuber David Dobrik and his Vlog Squad are once again in the news for all the wrong reasons. A woman has accused a member of Dobrik’s Vlog Squad Durte Dom of drugging and raping her with additional shocking details about the incident. The woman, given the pseudonym of Hannah, has alleged that Dom, whose real name is Dominykas Zeglaitis got her drunk while she was 20 years old in 2018 and sexually assaulted her after she came to the group’s home to film a video.
A journalist named Kat Tenbarge from Insider posted a lengthy thread on her Twitter account revealing the horrifying details from the unfortunate incident. Dobrik’s vlog squad consists of Dobrik, his childhood friend Zeglaitis and YouTubers Jason Nash, Jeff Wittek, Todd Smith, Nick Antonyan and Brandon Calvillo. What exactly is the controversy?
The anonymous accuser told Insider that Vlog Squad member Dom along with other members forced her to drink to the point where she could no longer consent. According to Insider, Dobrik was present during the shoot of the vlog and the footage was used as consensual “threesome plot” in his vlog, however, the video was taken down from YouTube later.
The journalist in her tweet stated, “The accuser says Vlog Squad members gave her and her college friends hard liquor because they were under the legal drinking age at the time and couldn’t buy alcohol. @trishapaytas, who was there that night, told Insider she witnessed this.” Hannah said that she could not remember everything that happened that night revealing that Zeglaitis trapped her in his room before she blacked out. “It seemed like I had a super-fun night with these famous vloggers basically, which is not what happened,” Hannah said. “I was exploited for content and stripped of autonomy and a voice,” she added. The anonymous accuser has not contacted the cops regarding the same.
As per the journalist’s tweet, the vlog was viewed 5 million times before it was taken down. In another tweet, the journalist says, “Hannah’s* friend who was there that night told Insider that the other men in the Vlog Squad went into the bedroom to watch the act. David also said he saw it with his own eyes on a podcast.”

David Dobrik briefly addresses new sexual allegations
This isn’t the first time when the Vlog Squad has been accused of sexual allegations. Recently, a former Vlog Squad member, Joseth “Seth” Francois, said he was tricked into kissing Sqaud’s member Nash in a video. Dobrik recently released a new YouYube video where he addressed the earlier and the new allegations as well. In the video, Dobrik says, “With the Seth situation, I’m sorry to Seth, because I just want to make videos where everybody in it, whether you’re participating or watching, is enjoying and having a good time. I missed the mark with that one.”
While addressing the most recent controversy concerned with Dom, Dobrik said, “With people in my life that I don’t film with anymore, like Dom, I chose to distance myself, because I don’t align with some of the actions, and I don’t stand for any kind of misconduct. I’ve been really disappointed by some of my friends.” He also added that he has deleted vlogs after realizing that “these don’t represent me anymore and they’re hurtful to other people.”

‘He’ll sweep the rape accusation under the rug’
As soon as the news hit the Internet, it got social media users talking. One individual shared, “David dobrik, durte dom, and his entire team of friends and youtubers are terrible people and dont know what consent is. a woman recently came out to say that she was raped for a threesome vlog, so stop supporting him and watching his videos.” Another added, “Durte dom was already accused of sexual harassment back in 2017 and david dobrik quickly swept it under the rug. he’ll sweep the rape accusation under the rug, too.”
The next one posted, “Ew, wtf... I usually thought Durte was used more for sexual intended jokes, but it never goes this far... and david still using the footage?? And poor girl, if she really did get raped, then that just proves, Durte Dom and David Dobrik to being literal psychos.” One user added, “I’s not even the first time durte dom has been accused of SA, yet david dobrik still continues to be his friend despite all of the accusations and people still support him because of his “nice guy” character, open your eyes.” One concluded, “People abuse their power far too often. Sending love and protection to the women who came forward with their accounts.” One livid social media user said 'You belong in jail' after reading the news.
