Dua Lipa continues to add to her list of collaborations with top K-pop artists. Her latest alliance is with Hwa Sa from 'Mamamoo'.

After having previously collaborated with the 'Blackpink' on 'Kiss and Make Up' which was featured on the deluxe edition of Lipa's self-titled debut album, the British pop singer is back with a remix for her song 'Physical' featuring one of K-pop's own pop divas. The track pays homage to Olivia Newton-John's 1981 song of the same name and is already getting people on their feet with its retro vibes and synth-heavy sound.

The addition of the K-pop singer, songwriter, and rapper to the mix elevates this already-fun song to a whole new level.

Hwa Sa herself made her solo debut only recently with 2019's 'Twit', but she has been a fan-favourite since her debut in 2014 as part of the group 'Mamamoo'. Known for breaking the mould, the singer prefers not to conform to the traditional image of a female K-pop idol and prefers to embody a more mature, sexier image. Her bold fashion choices have made her a target for hate, but she has simply taken the cyberbullying in her stride and more recently, chosen to poke fun at it in the feminist anthem that 'Mamamoo' dropped last year titled 'Hip'.

So it should come as no surprise that the singer is also breaking geographical barriers to team up with an international artist on a bilingual song. In the meantime, Lipa choosing to step back into K-pop is no shocker either, considering her previous collaboration with a South Korean group went on to chart in both America and Korea as well as in other countries despite never being released as an official single.

On 'Physical', Hwa Sa's signature breathy vocals lead us into the energetic track while Lipa takes the second verse, and the chorus gives us a powerful 'duet' with two pop icons bridging the cultural gap, effortlessly. This is something a lot of her past collaborations featuring K-pop artists have failed to do since the mashup of languages and styles is often jarring. But despite Lipa singing in English and Hwa Sa in Korean, the transition is almost seamless on this track.
