FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA: Alien Ant Farm lead singer Dryden Mitchell has been charged with battery after he grabbed a male fan’s hand into his crotch during a concert that took place on October 29, 2022. The 45-year-old fan, who stayed anonymous, filed a police complaint about the assault two weeks later. And on December 30, 2022, the Broward State Attorney's Office filed a first-degree misdemeanor charge, which is punishable by up to a year in jail.
The bizarre incident was captured in a video, shared by DailyMail, which shows the fan in the crowd raising his hand followed by Mitchell putting his hand on his crotch. The man quickly pulled his hand. As per the police report, "[The fan] said he had his fist in the air and was trying to get a picture with Mitchell. He advised that Mitchell grabbed his fist while it was in the air and pulled the fist into his private area (genital area) against his pants. He stated he immediately pulled his hand away at that point."

The report further stated that the man reported the incident because "it was not sitting well with him. He did not feel this was proper behavior to do in front of all the concertgoers and also stated there were kids in the crowd as well."
Talking more about the incident, the man told DailyMail, "I do want to tell my story but I do have to listen to my civil lawyers. I'll be more than happy to speak later. I do want the story out there because what happened was not right."
Mitchel is a founding member of the rock band Alien Ant Farm which was founded in 1996 in Riverside. The band's first album was named the 'Best Independent Album' at the LA Music Awards in 1999. However, the album that shot them to fame was their second album called 'ANThology.'
