Karen and Deon Derrico have always wanted to have a large family. With 11 children and three on the way, the family is excited to grow bigger. One might think that handling so many children would be a hard task but Karen and Deon make it look easy. The season premiere of the show highlighted how the family goes about their everyday life.

Karen and Deon admitted that they were always open to having a big family and made sure that they had the means to provide for everyone. However, when it comes to having all 11 of them together, Karen admitted that it was impossible to keep an eye on each one of them at the same time. To make things easier, Karen and Deon decided to follow the birth order system. The birth order system has the children lined in order of their birth. This ensures that all of them are present and no one is missed out. Despite this, there are a lot of things that Karen and Deon have to keep in mind while taking care of their children.

To begin with, the family makes sure that everyone is chipping in when it comes to household chores. Karen admitted that the younger children have been able to pick some good habits by looking at the older siblings and are ready to help without anyone asking them. Meanwhile, Karen and Deon make sure that they save money in every way possible. Deon takes charge of cutting the hair of all the children for two reasons — money and time. Deon admitted that he loves to spend time with all his children and cutting their hair seems like the best way to save money while also getting one on one time with each one of them.

That being said, the family does have few expenses that they cannot overlook. 18 loads of laundry a week and $3,500 a month in groceries, the family has to make sure that everyone in the family has what they need. Meanwhile, when it comes to heading out together as a family, Karen and Deon make use of a walking rope. The rope ensures that all the children are together. Making sure that they take necessary steps to protect and raise their children, Karen and Deon sure have a full-fledged plan in mind.

'Doubling Down with the Derricos' airs on Tuesdays at 10 pm ET on TLC.
