Did producers plant Bergie in 'Love Island USA' Season 5? Speculations arise as islander bags several favors

In Episode 3, we saw Bergie becoming everyone's favorite, but it seems like his friendly nature is being used by producers

PACIFIC HARBOUR, FIJI: One contestant who is portrayed as the sweetest of all in 'Love Island USA' Season 5 is undoubtedly Carsten 'Bergie' Bergersen. Having no dating history in the past made the islander even more desirable in the house. Well, Bergie is not someone who girls fancy in the house but they definitely find him the cutest. 

But are the producers favoring Bergie? He seems to have an upper hand in 'Love Island USA' Season 5. In Episode 3, we saw Bergie becoming everyone's favorite with his cute little gestures. But, are his friendly nature and sweet attitude being used by the producers for the sake of the show?

Is Bergie favored by the producers?

There are a lot of hints that could point toward Bergie allegedly being favored in the house. First and foremost, he was eliminated in the first episode. Despite being eliminated he was brought back in Episode 2 without any reason. It doesn't generally happen in reality shows. Once the contestant is ruled out they remain eliminated. Soon after his return, he was seen catching every girl's attention. He soon became the 'cutest person' in the villa. Girls were seen teaching Bergie how to kiss and how to flirt with women, making him learn the dos and don'ts of flirting. The whole plot made it feel as if Bergie was being favored and made him learn the skills to keep the storyline interesting. On the other hand, Bergie won Episode 3's challenge despite knowing less about girls.

'Why is Bergie on this show?'

Seeing Bergie almost know nothing about how to pull a girl made fans wonder why he even signed up for a dating show. A fan tweeted, "The boys coaching Bergie on how to dress, Anna and Jasmine coaching Bergie on how to pull. He’s gonna win this thing isn’t he #LoveIslandUSA." Another claimed, "Again….. why is bergie on this show!" A fan slammed the islander, "Bergie is so awkward damn lol like bro do u know what show u on?" Another mocked other contestants, "They want Bergie to find any woman but them!" "Does Bergie know how to do anything that pertains to women??" wondered a fan.

'Love Island USA' Season 5 premiered on Peacock on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. During premiere week, new episodes will be available to stream every day at 9 pm ET. Subsequently, new episodes will be released on Thursdays through Tuesdays on Peacock.
