‘Devs’ Episode 6 Preview: What is the mystery of Devs system and its connection to Lily?
The plot of the sci-fi thriller continues to thicken. The previous episode ended with Jamie (Jin Ha) helping Lily (Sonoya Mizuno) get out of the psychiatric hospital. At least this proved our previous suspicion of his death wrong, and it was comforting to see that Kenton (Zach Grenier) didn’t actually go ahead with eliminating him. But Jamie being alive also means that now Lily will be in safer hands. So, now, it is safe to assume that Jamie will be supporting Lily in her hunt for the truth of Sergei’s death, no matter what.
As we see in the trailer, their joint efforts could lead Lily face to face with Katie. Surprisingly, and extremely anti to our expectations, Katie seems to be quite open about the Devs system to Lily. The preview clip shows her talking to Lily about how the Devs program works and how Lily is connected to the same. Now, this is where we expect things to take a huge turn and get interesting. Why and how on earth could Lily have any connection to Devs? If she is just a regular programmer at Amaya, how significant is she to be a part of a secret program? Also, is it possible that Sergei found out that somehow Lily is connected to Devs and that the company considers her to be a threat, which disturbed him intensely and that led to his murder?
So far, we have seen Katie using the software for her personal benefits, which we cannot say in detail exactly what. Until now, we were never exposed to her real intentions, (except that she believed in the possibility of a parallel reality and wanted to postulate her own theory), and the upcoming episode might help us understand more about this young scientist. Therefore, her sudden move to involve Lily into the program’s secrets and the company’s hidden intentions comes as a shock to us. After all, she has always been loyal to Forest (Nick Offerman) and he was the one who gave Katie a platform to start her research and believed in her theories. So why would she suddenly want to go against him?
Also, what is the secret of the Devs program and why and how is Lily connected to it?
